Same. Someone wasn't done with him yet. On the, taie a picture end of it, and the laughing and joking, I'm the same way. Actually asked the ER staff about keeping the bullet they pulled out of my leg. 20 years later, I was a few hours out of surgery, above knee amputation, looking up funny amputee t shirts. Some people see it as odd behavior. I don't. Something like that, you joke because thinking about it is horrifying.

Oh the minute he said Christina’s name my heart dropped as I’ve known this story very well from when happened. I was heartbroken when it happened, I had been a huge fan of hers many years before she was on The Voice. I still have her music on my phone and my heart still aches for her. The sad thing is Samantha’s boyfriend was in touch with her the ENTIRE night including the ride home. For her own safety while she was in what she thought was her Uber, she was constantly sharing her location with him. He became alarmed as soon as he saw the Uber driving away from her home. He tried calling then the phone was shut off. He was the one calling her friends. And the one who got the investigation started! So tragic

What I don’t understand is how the Uber driver knew how to get to her home and how Samantha didn’t almost immediately realize she was in the wrong car. First of all, she wouldn’t have seen his gps up, second his photo wouldn’t have matched the apps photo, unless it looked similar…. I would’ve banged on the windows and doors immediately pleading for attention and help. Maybe she was too impaired or tired. I just don’t get this

The "Uber" story hits so close to home because when I was younger I ordered a taxi and someone had tuned into the cab office radio and got my details, when he pulled up and said my name I felt ok but my gut was screaming something isn't right, thankfully I noticed he didn't have the stickers/badges required by cab drivers and declined the ride, saying sorry I've changed my mind, he became aggressive and got out of the car but I was one heck of a runner in my teens so was able to get away and call police. Please be careful about who you're getting into a car with, even if you have booked the Uber, check the license plate, ask him to clarify the details of the pick up and just do all you can to check authenticity of your ride! Stay safe ❤️

One of the other sad things about Samantha's case is that her boyfriend, (might have been her fiancee, even), had been trying to find her when she left the bar, too. So he was actually watching in real time on his Find My Friends app as her murderer drove her further and further away, until the signal dropped. He was completely devastated. This caused Uber to change their security policies, although it took them awhile. That's why you now see lit Uber and Lyft signs in the car windows, driver photos, names, car photos, and license plate numbers on the app itself.

I got spooked by his demeanor and questions and just left. I still wonder to this day if he knew more than he was saying, and if that's why he was wanting to know if I knew her and stuff. Both murders are horrific but I can only imagine how Samantha felt that whole ride😭😭! I’ve fallen asleep in Ubers coming back from the club 😬 (granted I had a bestie in the car too) but I totally get letting your guard down cause it becomes routine. I always check the license plate, look at their photo, make sure there’s no other passengers in the car, and make them tell me their name/mine. I’ll refuse the ride and report them if they check off any of these red flags. I’m still paranoid tho so I always keep my keys between my fingers and sometimes my taser hid btw my thighs just to be safe 😢. Why is the world like this 🤦🏽‍♀️😖...

Former part-time Uber driver here. I cannot tell you how many times that I had drunk people accidentally get into my car (or attempt to) that weren’t my pickups. This included drunk college girls and 20-somethings traveling alone or in pairs. Fortunately for them, I wasn’t a complete psychopath. But these girls got into a stranger’s car without even verifying my photo or the make/model of my car. This is mind-bogglingly stupid. PLEASE verify your driver’s identity and that the vehicle matches that of your Uber or Lyft BEFORE you get into their car. Furthermore, don’t get so shitfaced at the bar that you can’t even recognize a potentially dangerous situation. If you want to get that drunk, please do that in the relative safety of your own home or that of a trusted friend.

I think the most fearful part of Samantha’s story is that she probably at some point got a notification that her Uber was waiting for her or something along those lines while she was in the backseat of what she thought WAS her Uber driver. Yea patients are kept awake during brain surgery to ensure there is no loss of motor skills, sensory perception or movement in extremities. The slightest wrong move or cut can have devastating consequences. When I was a nursing student many years ago my fellow clinical students and I were able to watch a Brain surgery be performed. It was so interesting watching the surgeon performing while the patient was awake and responding. The surgery took over 4 hours. Depends on what they have to do and what area of the brain is involved.

I would bet that the song they are playing in the background in the operating room is the song they are playing or singing so they can note if something is wrong. Depends on the brain injury. My doctor has told me when I have to go through it my normal bitchy way because if I start saying nice things they know something is terribly wrong.

I have a friend who owns a drywall company. One day, on the job, he was looking at some work and backing up to see better when he tripped and fell down the stairs flipping over and over. He got up and was a little dazed, but he shook it off and got back to work. That was on a Wednesday. He went to work the rest of the week, being a little sore, but nothing more than if he had been exercising. On Saturday, seemingly out of nowhere, he gets this blinding headache. Sunday he still had it, so he went to the hospital where they did an x-ray. In the gall, he had broken his neck and didn't even notice. The doctor said he came extremely close to being paralyzed.

When you order an Uber in the app, the app will first show you a picture of the driver's face and a detailed description of the car. How in the world did he accomplish that? The app also shows you a real time map with a car emoji moving towards you with a countdown of time to zero minutes; this way you can see how far he was starting and how long it will take him to reach you. I've Uber so many times and that's how it works. Forget the stupid sticker.

@@dunhill1 A lot of people don't pay that much attention to this stuff, or at least don't always. Samantha was probably a fairly trusting person, and up until this point in her life, she had no reason not to be. She also may have been drunk, or very tired, or distracted, which would've affected her attention to detail here. This could've happened to so many people. Samantha was just the unlucky one. :( Hopefully her story will at least continue to raise awareness for other rideshare users.

@@hapabear You very well may be correct and if 100% true, that is very sad because it means that this horrific murder was easily avoidable if a) she was not so drunk or b) complete disregard to the app & it's info that it shares with riders. One would also think that single young women are always cautious and putting their safety first. This is equivalent to walking alone down a dark alley. I wish one of her friends inside the bar escorted her outside and ensured she got into an actual Uber, knowing that she was so inebriated. Yes, i also hope it brings awareness in how to use rideshare services. RIP Samantha.

I can't even begin to fathom the pain that man caused Christina's whole family but especially her brother. He will "what if" himself to death if he isn't careful. I hope with all my hope that he was able to find some peace. He does not deserve that pain.

He’s in his late 20s or early 30s . He doesn’t have kids , you must be from the future. Question , does America get any better? Or just does it spiral in the next 10 years , also what a the gas prices like?

Imagine the horror of realizing a drill went through your head. Also imagine the horror of finding your buddy running around with a drill through their head. Both are awful! 😲

I was just scrolling through social media while listening to this video in the background and when you said Christina Grimmie I had like a visceral reaction. I used to watch all her videos when I was younger and my family were all fans of her.. Such a pure soul taken from all of us too soon
