Agree man. the 25 yard line identifies a lot of problems. Great video Blake. Been shooting my whole life, and I never fail to either be reminded or learn something or a new idea watching these videos. Semper!

Greetings from Arizona. My sons and I love your content. The instruction is spot on and very useful, although none of us normally train with a battle belt setup. Keep up the good work.

I enjoy watching your shooting stuff. Most of us don't wear a battle belt on a daily basis. We are usually concealed. I'd like to know your shooting standards for conceal carry. Love the videos!!
@peterguns Жыл бұрын
For sure. When i carry sometimes, not every day, i do drawing from my left hip level ( pricesely half way between hip and belly) with my right operatory hand. That is very quick, controlable. I train mostly ONE hand quick drawing without transporting a gun with two hands to my eyes. Waste of time. Grab, draw, quick reload while drawing and 2 shots from the hip level. That is my drill. Two hands good for the police and film 😉 Besides i am a sport shooter so one hand is sth normal as a technique. Even with 1911.
@markreed2576 Жыл бұрын
You break down each movement with great precision and articulate the hand positions very well. You are an excellent instructor. I see you don’t use red dots. I agree that pistols are close range weapons and red dots just add more work and time to adjust to.

Great video Blake. Poor tech guy has to be his own videographer lol. I would like to request a series on these drills while carrying concealed, with times adjusted for that. I only train the way I carry.

Hey Blake! I literally had to "rewind" in the very first seconds, and even study tats, to decide if Chad indeed had shaved his beard! Even beyond that, your voices are so similar, the potential for telephone pranks are limitless! Great training video for all shooters. Your teaching ability, calm and clear method, and high-level skills are a benefit to all 3 of 7 followers. Great job, and thanks from Texas. brother!

Very well done. As another commenter said: "calm, relaxed manner". Appreciated. I went online today because I am looking for some simple drills that don't require an IPSC or IDPA setup and a speed rig to do...lol. SIMPLE, understandable, achievable. Appreciate the "numbers" as I just purchased a Pact III yesterday. Having realistic goals to aim for is helpful. I will definitely look into your series and a Patreon membership. PS-Looks like a Glock 41? On my short list to replace a misbehaving 1911...

People always ask how I shoot so fast . Easy if you are doing the full TRIGGER pull and doing full reset of the TRIGGER every time is roughly 1" back and 1" forward . If done correct its 1" back and 4mm to reset and 4mm to go bang . That means Per mag your finger is moving 30" and my finger is moving under 2". Obviously diffrent guns have diffrent TRIGGER pulls . I prefer striker fired or SAO. That's how I describe it to people . Hopefully what I typed is understandable lol.. Nice video bro

It looks like your grip and slide have some sort of grip texture on them. What is it and I assume it’s after market since it’s a Glock? I like glocks but have sweaty hands and so the handle grip and slide on a Glock can be issues

I'm 57 years old and my eyesight is not as good as it used to be and I have found that day in and day out I can get faster and more accurate shots when I paint my steel targets black... My Glock sights just show up better against that black background as opposed to White. Does that make any sense to you? So lesson learned I might would want to wear a white T-shirt as opposed to a black one. Or am I the only one LOL

This is good for competition, but it's a very bad habit for concealed carry. If you use multiple guns with different triggers, you will most surely have an ND or AD take your pick.

This is pointless for the majority of shooters.. I live in central Fl. My range is indoors and 25 yards. With a list of rules.. so no drills just point and shoot a hole in paper
@MaxFuryan Жыл бұрын
Not pointless at all. I used to live in Florida too. I ended up buying my own property and built my own range. When I did live in Florida I was a member at ARES firearm training center in Leesburg. They have pocket lanes where you can do tactical training. Membership fees are very reasonable. Check them out.

I live 10 miles from the best private shooting range in SoCal. I shoot revolver out to 110 yards. There are numerous other ranges around here where people can shoot at 25 yards. I read about many other shooters using outdoor ranges with 25+ yards for pistol shots. 40 yard pistol shots on large plates are common for our pistol and 3 gun matches. It didn't take me long to stop using indoor ranges, once I found a decent outdoor range and I am fortunate to have options. Maybe you need a large poster with three different circles or smaller targets on it to do this drill. Use a single paper target and move your point of aim off the target then back on between shots to simulate changing targets. If you can't work from a holster, then work from the table or low ready position and then dry fire practice at home for the holster portion. Find out if there is an outdoor range within driving distance of you to practice once in a while. The majority of shooters are probably not in the same situation as you. You assume MOST are like you, but what do you base that on?

What is the point of doing this stuff ? Is it for some type of competition ? It's not for self defense, you wouldn't be wearing all of that stuff in a normal situation ?
