Heres something more realistic For us normal people a BCM 14.5 with a FSP and a prism optic and a flash light, a 308 bolt action with good glass and a glock 9mm and as much ammo as you get buy is more realistic for an apocalypse.

I have a pretty nice aero M5 build in 308. All in is around $2800 with a Zeiss conquest v4 4x16. And it weighs about 7.5 lbs empty, no scope. 18" barrel to. Shop around, can find some deals. Love that sig spear Lt.

My SHTF rifle is a Steyr AUG with an ACOG and IR laser on it. My shtf pistol is a Glock 45 (9mm) with iron sights and no light.

Nice to see a 308 and an MCX on the list. I just frankensteined a Roam magnesium LR308. It weighs only 6.9 lbs with optic and full 25rnd mags. Im actually considering selling my Virtus’s and Spear Lt and getting a DD RIS3 or frankensteining the lightest AR i can make. Should i get rid of the MCX’s or no?

I like your line-up for the most part. One thing for me though, if I'm going shorter than a carbine, I'm stepping up the bullet mass to get more out of it. .223/5.56 in SBR's is just meh when considering terminal ballistics. I prefer 300 BLK/7.62x39 in SBR's for the bullet size and mass you get from the shorter footprint. Suppressed, of course..

I agree. People sometimes fail to realize that’s the real benefit of a low pressure round like 7.62x39 or .300 blk out. You can shorten the barrel quite substantially and still see near peak performance. Inside 300 yards like a cqb environment or city fighting situation an sbr’d ak or even a pin and welded ak104 would be awesome. Cool thing about 7.62x39 vs. 5.56/223 too is that the regular cheap ammo is still impressive in ballistic’s where as you’d need an expensive 77 gr 5.56 to have a similar stopping power. Just something people should think about depending on their environment/needs but i also see the benefits of 5.56

I don't have the exact rifles but I agree with the calibers, I have no plan to bug out for any reason due to where I live, my wife, and my age, and although I was once a member of the high-speed unit, I am just a beat up, worn out has been with no delusions of grandeur. So every weapon I own and every commodity conceivable is based on making a last stand the easiest for me and the hardest for whoever if need be. But I agree 223/556, 30hate, 9mm 22's and a 12 gauge shotgun are the best options based on availability, but I have other calipers at my disposable and would probably use them first until each one ran out of ammo but in reality if your down to using a gun to save your life you are already in deep do-do in most cases in a WROL scenario.

My choices, going by the rules of CA... 1. A 9mm pistol, which WILL be my 1st gun. (Either a Springfield XD 9, Glock 19, or anything else. However, I SHOOT BEST AND MOST ACCURATE WITH the XD so far and I don't care about the politics regarding Springfield!!!) [Budget is under $1000. The $1000 dollar mark would only be a "Gucci Glock" while the others should be under $800.] 2. AR-15 chambered in 5.56. (I'm thinking S&W 15 Sport 2 or Ruger 556.) [Budget is under $1200 with customizations included.] 3. AR-10 chambered in .308. (Maybe a Diamondback.) [Budget is under $1800 after customizations.] 4. This is a bonus and it'd be another pistol. A either a 9mm (whatever 9mm I do not have), a .380, or a .45 ACP. It has to be something I shoot best with. [Budget is under $1200. The budget over $1000 is for the 1911 .45 ACP, a Gucci "Glock", or another pistol with customizations included.]

Hey man, I got a 19x. With the existence of a p365 xmacro, I don’t see a big reason to choose a Glock over a sig now. Same 17rd capacity in a smaller footprint as well. IMO a pistol should be just enough to get you to your rifle of your choice.

Some good stuff mentioned here. My difference is an FN FNX 45 tactical with a can for my pistol, Daniel defense pdw in 300 blackout with a can, and a POF revolution in 308 with a can. If you can’t tell I like suppressors a lot so you can hide signatures from flash and sound

If SHTF you need 2 guns, 1 for personal protection at short range, you and your family. I choose a .22WRM. Wide choice, take your pick. I like the S300 Thunderstruck mk.2 To put food on the table you need an accurate rifle. Simplify your ammo needs and stick with .22LR. again enormous range to pick from. Stick with the major manufacturers like Ruger or Remington and you should survive. Hopefully you will have enough cash left to stack ammo as well.

If staying at home for defense I would pick 9 or a 40,5.56,12 guage. If try to leave it would be a 10mm, 308, 7.65x39. That way you'll have the right tools to fight with and hunt if needed

I'm a old school, and I think the 3 should be a shotgun, rifle and pistol, and as far as ammo, about 400 rounds for all 3 will be good. If you think about it, any fire fight you get into, will be over in minutes and then its a done deal, but in the end, my thoughts are, I hope I never need any of them.

I think the 6.8 SPC is a better solution to a 308. Yes 308 is way more common, but that doesn't mean you can't store 6.8 SPC in significant quantities for it to be viable.

That's why there's a load out for every member of the house, family of four capable people. Everyone grabs a long gun , pistol and ammo can. Load outs #1 12.5 AR qcb build with 1911 in 45acp #2 12.5 AR scope build with compact 9mm #3. 12 gauge Mossberg with 410 pistol #4. 12.5 AR with .357 six shot revolver. I would hate to leave anything in the safe that's why I have shrunk down my collection. for 22lr I have one of those cmmg conversion kits for the AR

However, must would like to look cool instead of be practical and logical.. get a good magpul backpacker stock and you can carry that firearm almost hidden in a pack or on your back. And grab tennis ball container and fill out with ammo and you have hundreds upon hundreds of rounds for small game. If you're skilled, placement means you can do numerous things.

Tbh in shtf, its still a very low chance of range combat. Its going to be gorilla warfare and cqb with drones everywhere. Group of dudes will stalk your Location, drone it up to look for routine, at night or in the day they'll close the distance until they are right on you when your pooping. Quick draw, handgun , still unmatched.

I generally agree with your overall choices. For me it would be: - AR-10 or similar rifle in 308 is a must. Possibly with the ability to switch to a longer range caliber like 6.5 Creedmoor. - For a lighter setup, either an AR15 or something similar is acceptable (and possibly preferable). Caliber choice SHOULD be easily switched between 223/5.56 and 300BLK, for maximum flexibility. - The Handgun I'd probably select is the Sig Sauer P320. It has the flexibility to quickly be converted into a PDW by putting it into a chassis system. - My 4th pick would be a Shotgun. Something Semiauto from either Benelli, Beretta, Mossberg, or IWI.

How often do you shoot over 1000 meters? If you’re doing that regularly you’re probably not using 6.5 anyway. 6.5 isn’t common enough to be a realistic choice in SHTF and it doesn’t do anything significantly better than .308. Get a clue.

There are three weapons every citizen should have: The first is a brain. Yup that’s the absolute most important weapon. With a brain one can avoid dangerous neighborhoods, terrorists targets, etc. one can also learn to provide for one’s family with a job, a roof and food that isn’t a trip to Chick Fillet twice daily. A brain can also help one become self sufficient. The second is friends and family that think like you do and live in close proximity. Create a network of like minded folks with different talents. Doctors, nurses, mechanics, carpenters, farmers, computer geeks, welders, etc. are all ok. Build a community remember like our ancestors did. And last is get the best, most capable firearms you can afford for your needs. I would advise four kinds. One, a shotgun that is capable of hunting and self defenses. Two, a riffle that’s good for hunting and self defense. Three, a handgun that’s good for hunting and self defense and last a handgun for deep concealment. Good luck everyone.

Good list - but the Glock is a no-go for me. It's so.....1980s! 🤣 While they've rested on their laurels, they've been surpassed in so many ways by the likes of HK, Walther, hell - even S&W! My best advice though, is to set up one's life so that one bugs IN when the SHTF. We moved off-grid to rural AZ. Plentiful game (large and small), reliable water, and a very small rural community of like-minded individuals and families. For this situation, my wife and I have our individual arsenals. Hers is a Wilson Combat EDC X9 with a TLR7a, a Colt M4 with reliable Magpul 80 round drums, and a Ruger 10/22. Mine is a Springfield M1A Scout Squad, a SIG P226 Tactical, and a Remington Police 870 - with white lights on the SIG and 870. I have seen too many red-dot failures to trust them much - especially on the pistols. There is an Aimpoint Pro on her AR - but with good backup iron sights as well. Great vid. Subbed!

A Glock 19 and 16" AR-15 would cover 99% of anything the vast majority of people in the US would need. If you need more range due to your area, a 7.62x51/.308 should cover it.
