Not saying I own a gun like this, but I have a "friend" who owns a clone of the 'k' variant. When referring to it in discussion with people who aren't gun aficionados, he refers to it as an MP5 clone. Not because he is an idiot, or trying to seem extra cool or whatever, but rather because most people know what an MP5 is, but have no clue what an AP5-P is.

Thanks for this video. Well done. Your insights are appreciated, and yes, there are plenty of videos on the history of H&K, but very few videos with closeups of all the accessories. So glad to see how the telescopic stock makes it past the plate blocking the side rail channels. Thanks!

Recently purchased my HK SP5. I love It..!! This video is an excellent start for me in regard to adding additional items to this firearm. The History of this firearm has been covered many times as you mentioned, so thanks for getting to the “Add-Ons” from the Get-Go ..!

As always, I think you have great content for how small your channel is. Keep the content coming! I had a Zenith which was a great firearm, but I just had to have a real HK and bought a SP5. SBRed it, B&T parts, Eotech, A3 German stock for a mix of modern and old school. It's SO satisfying to shoot. Ammo for a PCC is more affordable and I just love shooting it as much as I love looking at it. Less than a year later... I'm already looking for a reason to get the SP5K PDW variant too. Yours is set up more or less how I would set mine up too. While I picked HK over B&T for my SP5, I think the even smaller footprint of the B&T stock makes even more sense for the K model.

I own one and love it and yes it sits in my safe. I've ran a couple mags through it. I'm waiting on my oem 1 approval. Also I found a mount and rmr type from shield sights that allows you to still use you irons. Also I noticed in the video the can has alot of back pressure it's blowing gas out behind the mag. I run a b&t rdb can on mine. But great video guys. Thanks.

There's a local gun store, that recently dropped the price. Still $1000 dollars, but with a pistol brace, it should make an excellent "behind the pickup truck seat" personal defense weapon. The downside, is, the pistol is expensive and every accessory (including magazines) are also pricey.

Does the B&T low optic mount still allow for use of the irons if you don’t have an optic mounted?

I have a Century Arms AP5-P… she identifies as an MP5k and she is just as beautiful specially with my DeadAir Wolfman in K configuration with a 3lug adapter and a Holosun 507 pistol red dot. I want to put a broom handle on it and a Chote stock when I SBR it.

I'm having a difficult time finding a light that will work with mine. I went with the Magpul handguard which has MLOK slots, but without a vertical pistol grip there isn't much real estate to mount a light. Any ideas?

I picked up a PTR 9kt. It isn't HK but it does the exact same thing at a much less expensive price and it helps those in the USA stay employed, paying taxes cuz millions on welfare are depending on em and more showing up down south everyday. Great job. I did a few on mine over at Info not Wars if you get the time.

B&T is overrated. My GHM9 had more felt recoil than a cz scorpion. Sold it and bought an sp5k. Couldn't be happier.

Ok, I was gonna leave this alone but I saw too much bullshit from people acting like they know something. I’m retired from my Sheriff’s Office but we had MP5’S. Being a firearms instructor they also sent me to every armorer’s course to cover EVERY type of weapon Deputies carried or used. Including HK’S SMG classes. HK did in fact make MP5’S in semiautomatic!! I own a K thanks to a healthy discount for armorers. Now you can drop your “MP5” hangup! The only differences between the full and semi are bolt, trigger group and recoil spring. Although you can use a semi spring and it works. The “MP” is to designate Military/Police. Mine is semi but is stamped on the top “MP5K” because I bought it through the Police program. Oh and, I shoot mine often!! It now has a Franklin Armory trigger.
