They are fantastic reliable vehicles. I am 37 and recently found a '98 garage kept with only 35k miles in it. Paid 6k. Most comfortable, great feeling car I've driven. I'm trying to find an exhaust setup or modification that doesn't give it a nasty raspy sound but highlights the low growl of the V8. In 98 they were single exhaust setup

The gold Marquis sounds best in my opinion.. not to raspy loud and not too quiet nice rumble noise .. Great to see it done..Many states don't allow this want them remaining stock depending how old they are...Those states with strict inspection requirements...

@@Allen-ko1oz Agreed my late father and I put exhaust tips on the '05 not long after he bought it. Makes it look very cool without sounding that way. Another relative has a 2005 Grand Marquis like yours and it sounds a little quieter. Not by much, though.

Yes... I love the bite it has that the other two lack, however, I dislike the “clapped out” sound the true duals tend to make. A nice H or X pipe could have alleviated that.

Right I just got mine was like damn. It's almost as quiet as a 90s Bentley. (I've drove one and it's the quietest car over ever seen that's why I'm comparing it to that lol) It's also one of those cars that just floats down the highway you'll look down and not realize you're going like 90 lol. You're be like damn I thought I was doing 40 I was way off I did that exact thing. It's hard to beat old school American body on frame highway rides. It's like driving a cloud down the road lol you don't feel really any bumps or nothing you just float.

Now you need the Mercury Marauder seats, they are really nice. The only way to get rid of the cats legally may be to go to NG or propane. otherwise they pollute too much. But even then you will have NOx pollution.

VERY glad to see that the Catalytic Converters were left in place -- only really stupid people remove the Cats, thinking that they'll have more power and/or more noise -- but these pulls show that there is a plenty of noise (over 100 db), but with ALL 4 CATS IN PLACE !! The famous 95 MERC runs with all 4 Cats in place; Walker H-Pipe; MagnaFlow 2" x 21" Glasspax; Walker Tailpipes; and 2.5-in., slant-cut Tips. My system runs with a smooth rumble -- which is perfect for long-distance, high-speed cruising -- all three (3) of the set-ups shown here WILL be subject to head-busting sounds of severe DRONING after a short time at 75-85 mph, even with the quiet interior of the Grand Marquis. Here in the Southwest, we can drive for hours at high speeds, and those loud pipes will give splitting headaches to everyone in the car. I found out the hard (expensive) way, and made my passengers VERY uncomforable, too.

I have a 1999 Grand Marquis same color as the 1st one but I had a friend wrap it in metallic grey vinyl for about 1400$ that was cheaper than a paint job. Dual exhaust flowmaster super 10 series mufflers,cold air intake,and a pre cat delete. My Grand Marquis sounds pretty bad ass too I stay getting complements on the sounds. My wife drove it to work the other day. I keep it parked under the car porch as soon as she started it woke me up out of my sleep. My Grand Marquis sounds like a monster when you're cranking it up. Great video from you guys you did an awesome job on every Marquis in the video.. 👍🏾

Flow FX is by far the best. These true duals, muffler deletes, straight pipes, etc, sound like ass. It's like I'm back in the early 90s. An exhaust should enhance the sound and add tone, not just leave a shitty-sounding engine unfiltered. IMO.

The 1st one sounded good because it still had the H-pipe and rear resonators to tone the sound. The 2nd one was a deeper, smoother sound for sure but I still liked the 1st one. The 3rd one, without any muffler or H-pipe, sounded like ass.

Dont know for sure but a 6:00 you can see the new piping is a little larger than the post cat stock pipe. Stock Grand Marquis and Vics have I think 2in stock, so maybe 2.25 or 2.5. Not 100% sure though, just a guess

Gas Consumption almost always gets WORSE, due to the kids always wanting to show off their new "Bad-ass" exhaust system. "Stupid is as stupid does." -- Forrest Gump P.S. -- Beware the jokers selling "True Duals" -- it's a step BACKWARD from an "H" or "X" pipe.

Thou shalt not f**k with the Pennsylvania State Inspections laws -- ALL Catalytic Converters must be fitted according to FEDERAL law, and Pennsy is really strict about cat removal. People need to GROW UP, and stop with the air and noise pollution -- NOW !!

I have the 2010 that comes down to one pipe at the end from the factory, and was wondering how difficult/expensive it would be to do the same things shown here, but with the single exhaust version of this vehicle. You don't want dual pipes, they sound like shit. Just have the muffler replaced with the largest pipe you can into a single pipe instead, that'll give it a really good growl and it wont sound like someone shitting through a straw.

Non PPI. About the same as the 96-98. Not the 99-04.

@@embiggens1 The 01+ models got the PI heads, same as the 99-04 Mustang GT. The P71 in 05 got the Marauder intake, further increasing power. Ended up making 250hp, the GT made 260hp.

they range in a lot of different years. My 1995 grand marquis has the full digital dash. I think they go from 1995 to 2002

Honestly in my opinion secondary cat delete with h-pipe replaced with a x-pipe with no muffler sounds awesome, kind of sounds like a mustang too. Droining isn't horrible either
