better strategy for hedging is opening trades for crosses.. instead of putting full risk going long on usdjpy, split your risk between usdjpy and audusd or some other pair with usd as the denominator or numerator. for example, the jpy might be strong and the aussie weak therefore you wont lose as much going long on usdjpy and short audusd

Hello Kareem, We allow use of trade copying softwares. Please be aware that once in FTMO stage, we have a maximum capital allocation limit of $300k (or equivalent in other currencies, prior to scaling) per trader or trading strategy. If multiple FTMO Traders used the exact same signals and made same trades, our system would recognize it and we would contact the traders who started using the software later to tell them that the limit has been exceeded and these traders would no longer be allowed to use the same signals. We have this rule as we need to keep the risk to our capital diversified.

Hello Kevin, the FTMO Account is connected to the Live Account and all of the positions are copied there. If you read through our FAQ, we actually do not mention that it is a real account - we inform our traders that they will be trading on this special demo account and copy their trades. That way, we can safely protect the capital if the trader violates any of the Trading Objectives. Hello Sandor, do you mean half of the position? If so, then yes - Double click on the running trade. For example, You have a 0.1 lot trade, and want to close half position (0.5 of the 0.1 lots for profit) and let the other 0.5 lot remain. Change the amount of your position. Click Close.

Thanks Simon for these reviews! I have activated a free trial which will span for 14 days. However I noticed that commissions where being deducted as the open trades were ongoing. Is it normal for such to occur on a free trial and is it going to be the same on either the actual challenge, verification, or even the live account?? Thanks for your feedback. Hi Chiedu Egwim, The conditions are the same whether you are trading on FTMO Challenge, Verification or FTMO Account. You can trade news events during FTMO Challenge and Verification and FTMO Account type Swing. Otherwise, on a normal FTMO Account, you can not trade 2min before and after news events that are restricted in our economic calendar. Hello Azu, yes you have to be connected for this to work. You will get message in a very similar way you receive SMS, but this is done online. We are sure that this works with all kinds of alerts, but you might have to search online for additional settings.

Your computes need to be on with MT4 open. I use a VPS , instead.

This happens when your desktop shuts down. The solution is to either leave it on all of the time, or run MT4 on the desktop of virtual private server (VPS) . You can get a VPS from Amazon (AWS) or Digital Ocean for free or with minimal cost.

Hello Ayajul, I would suggest for you to rewatch that section of the video. Basically you are paying the cost on entering the positions as usual(spread or commission or both), but on exit, the positions are closed against each other without paying spread or commission on exit. If you hedge yourself, your exposure is increased but you protect yourself from unwanted market moves, until you decide to exit the hedge as per your trading plan. When you exit by closing one side of the hedge, you can do so by offsetting the counter-position. You can explore this function in our Free Trial. We can also recommend to learn more about hedging from public sources like www.investopedia.com/terms/h/hedge.asp.
