For many trading software, Metatrader was too heavy, and web traders did not have the necessary functionality. cTrader has a clear interface and everyone can understand how to use it all. I was thinking the same until I got to know more and more features of cTrader, for instance I love that I do not have a limit of candles, I can go back to 50k candles in the 2 minutes timeframe if I want, thing that tradingview does not allow me to do with the Pro version. So are details that are quite important when backtesting. I also find all the indicators I need on cTrader, just because I use simple ones, nothing sofisticated, so Im quite happy with that. I also like that I can have 15 charts open at the same time, with different instruments, or the same one in different timeframes, with Pro version on Tradingview I can only have 2. I can also open multiple instances of cTrader, with Tradingview if I open the iPad app and the browser version I see a message for upgrading to the next verison, which is quite expensive. So, in summury, cTrader is way better in my opinion, as I said, according to what I need :)

I've used MT4 for years and only recently started using MT5. However, CTrader's features by far surpass them both, if only for the fact it helps me properly calculate my risks and improve risk to reward at a glance without having to go find a web calculator someplace else. Until now, I was reluctant to start the FTMO challenge, however, I'm quite confident now. So, I'm going to register today and go for the Ctrader option. Thank you for sharing.

You missed out that you can close and open from your existing position so you can partially closed them with no extra commission. So if you made a mistake and you opened double of the position, you can cut it in half. With mt4 you have to close down the whole position and open another half of the size of the previous one. So you would pay 1 and a half more commission than with ctrader.

For several years I've been seeing the mentions of cTrader on trading forums and generally people seemed to be impressed with the platform and especially praised the DoM feature. I recall reading that DoM can also be used to open and close the trades. Yet, I don't see such an opportunity in my cTrader. Is it a demo restriction or there is something else I'm missing? No one seems to be able to answer my question= why is it impossible to place a position especially a buy position close to a market price on a live mt4/5 but possible to do that on a demo. When I place a buy position on a live account my position goes very and very far away from market price but when I place a sell position it comes close to a market price [ask price line]. When you place a buy position on a demo it comes closer to market price[bid price line] and you would not have to place a take profit very far, you do it where you want.

Thanks for this video. I'm actually still stunned that the trading world is so heavily reliant on MT4 - I guess it's the old, 'if it ain't broke' kind of situation. I find it both sort of useful, and hilarious.. and not in a good way. The fact that you can't place a TP or Stop Loss with your fingers on the mobile app chart to me is beyond insane. I don't know how an app stayed like this for so long. I hope to see much more modern and advanced trading software replace this in the years to come. Ps. This can be done through the properties of the order. Click on "settings" next to your order. The "order modification window" will open in front of you. You can increase the trading volume by changing the lots in the "Quantity" field.

yup, they care about account equity. Thatt's far too much risk for 1 trade and unsustainable long-term they need to protect their capital and not have people gamble with it

If you were in 15k profit, there is no need to continue, as your Profit Target would be reached (for the Challenge and Verification). Either way, it would not count as a violation if this new position would be opened in the same day as the profitable position. However, if you made 15k yesterday and lost 5k today, that would count as a violation.
