I use henna and fenugreek. The fenugreek I use in my biweekly prepoo with coconut oil. I do a henna gloss monthly and a henna masque to cover my grays quarterly. I've used this routine since 2017 and I've retained so much length.
@veyveye.29852 жыл бұрын
What is a henna gloss? Please share.
@NinaLady112 жыл бұрын
@@veyveye.2985 A henna gloss is where I mix the prepared henna with a moisturizing deep conditioner and leave on for an hour (ish) before rinsing it out. I use the Belle Bar Organics henna for the gloss (don't know what happened to them, they had great products). For the masque I use the Marron henna bars from Lush Handmade Cosmetics. I mix according to the instructions and apply to my grays first, then mix with a deep conditioner and apply to the rest of my hair and leave on for about six hours before rinsing out. The henna leaves a layer on my hair that keeps my strands from tangling so easily. It does make my high porosity hair behave more like normal to low porosity so I avoid using products with protein when doing this routine.

Question do you find that henna dries your hair out?
@NinaLady112 жыл бұрын
@@reneecrane5344yes, but my henna is always mixed with some amount of oils so that lessens the drying effect. I do find that it makes it more difficult for moisture to penetrate my strands in the weeks after the masque. My hair is very high porosity so I find the effect to be beneficial but I do have to use different methods to keep my hair properly moisturized. I'm ok with the trade-off since I've been able to retain a lot of length by reducing breakage.

Roughly 1 to 2 tablespoons per 1 cup of water. Heat water then add the plain gelatin. Apply to shampooed hair for 2 mins to 1/2 hour. It all depends if your hair likes it. So would start with a less amount of time. I think 10/15 minutes is average. It’s up to you. Then rinse then deep conditioner or whatever you like.

My favourite hair strengthening treatment is a DIY mask I make at home containing hydrolised wheat liquid drops, collagen powder, gelatin, egg white, aloe vera juice for slip, xantham gum for thickness. I mix with warm water and add a dash of olive oil et voila super affordable and effective! The proteins have large to small sized molecules which strengthen the hair at different levels. I have not used a pure protein treatment like Apogee. But, I have been using a repair treatment that does have protein in it and I have to say I really like it. But, I am now thinking twice about using such a strong treatment when I do not color treat or use relaxers and I never put heat to my hair other than steaming during treatments and I hardly manipulate outside of wash day. I tried her protein treatment, which is a 2 step process called Elite Repair RX Super Protein Reconstructor treatment. The 2nd step is called Elite Repair RX Hydrate and Restore Moisturizing Conditioner. I had been seeing these little pieces of hair breaking off in my sink. It had been months since I did a protein treatment. I gave her products a try since I loved her shampoos and conditioners. There is noticeably a difference in what I am not seeing in my sink. I have happy hair again. I like this because it doesn't make my hair feel like it is going to break if I touch it once it dries as the Aphogee protein treatment does. Green beauty also has one or two videos however, I'll advise that you do the following; 1. Be sure to take your vitamins and eat a balanced meal. 2. Check your blood level and be sure to take the necessary supplement as instructed by the doctor. 3. Cleanse and condition as often as possible; at least once a week and be sure to clarify at least bi-weekly. 4. Detangle gently and make sure you don't do tight protective styles or leave it in for too long. 5. Incorporate Green Tea/Rosemary Rinse into your regimen as well as a protein treatment e.g. Aphogee 2min reconstructor to balance your moisture/protein level on your hair from outside. 6. Use the right tool. I wish you well.🙏🏿
