I have 4c/4b hair. My ends were in bad shape ; though experiencing a lot of breakage, I refused to BIG CHOP off my hair. I started using Olaplex back in late August. On first use, 90% less breakage. I kid you not. After 3 weeks, I skipped Olaplex #3 and experienced a little breakage during shampoo. I have not missed a treatment since and am glad for it. I've used it every week as part of my weekly regimen. As my new growth comes in, I've been trimming my ends a little at a time. Broken ends are almost gone. My natural curl pattern pops. It's take me 3.5 months (and help from influencers like you), for me to get a feel for what my hair likes: shea butter, black castor oil, honey, coconut oil.... and Olaplex 3. NOTE: I use #3 weekly; and once a month I use #0 with #3. It's great. I've been fearful of doing the aphogee protein treatment so I've been doing this. Hope to do protein treatment late this month when I finish reading up on natural hair. Olaplex is GREAT and has helped me feel more confident on my natural hair journey.

Thanks for sharing your experience girl! I have a salon size of the olaplex product and I've been slacking on using it 🤭. Is olaplex #3 the only thing you use to pre-poo? Hope you'll respond🤞🏾, but in any case I wish you continued success on your hair journey :)

I've mentioned this in a few of your videos but to my Low Porosity girls out there, PLEASE BEWARE OF OLAPLEX!! I am in no way writing it all the way off as I've seen it do wonders in my clients hair, especially those with chemically treated hair. However...if you do not have serious damaged or chemically treated hair AND you are LP, I would limit Olaplex usage. It was wonderful the first few times and I loved it so much that I used the ENTIRE LINE 1-7, I was using something from the line on every wash day. It provided great strength at first but then all of a sudden my hair behaved as though it had protein overload even when I stopped using protein. My hair became wiry, stiff, tangled and dry I had severe breakage and it would not respond to any of my favorite moisturizing products or butters and oils. I believe the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner caused the most problems for me, as I was using that most often. I'm just saying, if you try it, please pay attention to how your hair reacts whilst using it. I hope this helps someone!!

I was on the olaplex train years before KZbin discovered it. My sister is a licensed stylist and got me the $200+ stylist kit. It helped me retain some length after bleaching my hair completely white years ago. It’s not a miracle worker but I did see some results with consistent usage. It’s overpriced and overhyped but it works. I would say do a No.1 only treatment. I would frequently do those to help maintain my color treated hair. The whole system isn’t always necessary.

This is actually really helpful - Thank you! Have you tried all the numbers? If someone just wanted to use it for general strengthening/maintenance (if they haven’t coloured) would you still recommend No. 1/2?
@LorenzDominique

@@AfopeAtoyebi Gosh. I tried 1-3. They had not released all of the 68754 products they have, so I can only speak for 1-3. I did monthly standalone treatments following these instructions: OLAPLEX TREATMENT: IT STANDS ALONE Mix 1/2oz (15ml) of No.1 Bond Multiplier with 3oz (90ml) of water in an applicator bottle. Apply from roots to ends. Saturate hair and comb through. Leave on for 5 or more minutes. Without rinsing, apply a generous amount of No.2 Bond Perfector and comb through once. Leave on for a minimum of 10 or more minutes. Rinse, shampoo, and condition. Perhaps one day I will complete a full hair journey video and upload it. Olaplex is one of my staple products for when my hair was highly lifted. I don't use it now since I have loc extensions but, even prior to having the extensions for the past 4 months, I didn't find the need to reach for Olaplex after finding a proper routine to maintain balanced moisture. Maybe you can touch on some signs that indicate that a treatment might be good for someone because I never felt the need to use it once I ended cutting all my color out.

FYI to anyone watching this because they have protein overload, many of these ingredients actually are amino acids a.k.a. protein. if you're in protein overload you don't need to strengthen your hair - if it's breaking or falling out it's due to lack of moisture. oils are ok but coconut oil will help hold onto protein.

Nice video. Cryptocurrency still remains one of the best online investment mostly when it comes to Bitcoin. being the largest asset so far, although bitcoin trading and making good profits from trading bitcoin seems to be a bit difficult for most people out there because they make the wrong approach and strategy when it comes to trading. As a trader, so for i have been successful trading bitcoin because i was smart enough to do some research on making good profits daily and got to find out about a working strategy and signals provided by a pro trader known as Nicholas Myron. During my first month i was able to grow my portfolio from ?? 3.9BTC to a total of 8.7BTC with Mr Nicholas daily signals which you will agree that is a very good profits, so i would say don't rush and sell off, grow the little you hold with a very profitable signals. You all can reach out to him on Instagram (@nicholas__fxtrade)....

I just dicovered that there's a Brazilian haircare brand called Salon Line Meu Liso which offers multiple masks that have creatine listed as the second ingredient. All the ones I've seen are over 8 ounces and priced UNDER $20 👀. I just bought myself their "Máscara De Reparação Argan" but "Mascara Restauracao Intensa" is another option 😀. These masks are much cheaper than the Kerastase alternative which only has creatine listed in the last 3 ingredients. I'm eager to see how using the "Máscara De Reparação Argan" will benefit my hair & help preserve its integrity.

I just found you in the comments from Glam Fam and now I am binge watching your videos! You are preaching and teaching a lot of good. I am relaxed but I still want to have healthy hair and currently relax 3 times a year, shooting to get that to 2. My hair is high porosity 3B/3C hair. I do not use any direct heat, mostly hooded dryer drying and steamer. I just started the Olaplex my last relaxer day but have been trying to learn as much as possible since I had a lot of shedding this year. Thanks for the advice I will use it a bit more frequently than originally planned. I was going to stick to only when relaxing but I will do it once a month and keep my protein at every 6 weeks. I started an iron supplement a month ago and the shedding decreased but at 65mg it shot my numbers to 170 outside of the normal range. So your recommendation of the MegaBlood at 26mg is a lot closer to RDA at 144%. So within 20 minutes of discovering you I am already gaining! New subbie who will be singing your praises@

Welcome back, you definitely have been missed. Cream of Nature has a PLEX Breakage Defense line. It is a 3 step treatment. Step 1 is the so-called bond mender pre-treatment. I bought the entire line because it was cheaper than Olaplex. I tried it once and step 1 made my hair feel like straw, the saving grace was the shampoo and conditioner. However the shampoo and conditioner is so thick and very difficult to get out of the bottle that I stopped using it as well.

I have type 2/3 bleached hair but some of my blondest strains would refuse to curl before using this product. No matter how much protein, curl cream, finger coiling and pinning I did they would be straight. Now they wave up nicely. Still not as curly as my virgin hair sections but definitely a lot better and they blend in with the rest of my hair better too.

Hello 👋🏽 loving your content. Amazing and helpful to actually see someone with high porosity hair like mine. Question how often do you blow dry your hair?

I have low porosity hair. I heard that Coconut oil doesn't have protein but acts like protein. I read a study saying that, "Coconut oil, being a triglyceride of lauric acid (principal fatty acid), has a high affinity for hair proteins and, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, is able to penetrate inside the hair shaft". Does this mean that Coconut oil is trying to sap the protein out of the hair?

No it means it acts like a protein even though it doesn't have any... It reinforces what's already there

It's protein seeking so it adsorb to any protein that's on the hair

Aww love the science! This is why you should not comb hair wet, as you're breaking the disulphide bond, and your hair is weakest when wet!

Since ceramides keep cuticles closed, I would think they wouldn’t be necessary for low porosity hair.

I’ve tried olaplex. It was eh; for me. However, I recently tried the Aveda botanical repair mask; I really like that one. It felt like it closed the gaping holes on my hair shaft. And yes, I have highly porous hair. Check it out then let me know if it contains an ingredient you’ve mentioned.

Hi! I was wondering does regular mayonnaise have ceramides in it too? I have some that just expired so otherwise it will go to waste. Love your channel

So does this (sulfur bond) somehow support or agree with using onion juice? Let me just say I tried it and didn’t see any difference 😞 perhaps my technique was flawed...
