Another dynamite vid, Sam! A top hack on the R6, for me, is setting the C3 dial button to 1.6x crop mode for when I need a quick & dirty tele. :) cheers man

Hey do you do it for photos or have you found a way to do that for video? I use the same trick while shooting video all the time, but have to go into menu to switch to 1.6x.

@@KarlMarkusAntson Hey man- I only use this for video, so I can't speak for video use... Do the C1,2,3 buttons work in the same manner though for video? Maybe it can be set to the same function?

But do you need one shot?!! It’s a pointless operation for me, back button in servo, focus, shoot. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The best way to re-center the focus box in push down in the centre on the joystick (I'm sure you know joystick is also a push-down button), as your thumb finger is already there to move the box. The DoF button I use it to switch from One-Shot to Servo, while direct AF method switch (I have only two, single point and multi/face, so its basically a direct toggle between the two) is on MfN button, so with the index finger I move from shutter button to MfN button to toggle AF method, while with the ring finger I toggle One-Shot and Servo. With those two buttons you completely alter the AF of your camera. When in single point AF, the box is moved with the joystick, and re-centered pushing down on the joystick itself. Touchscreen was fully disabled the day camera come out of the purchase box, it's not needed to control the camera in any way, and just make your screen filthy and greasy. Touch screens on pro cameras are a disgrace. ISO is on the top dial (Tv is on front dial, Av is on rear dial, typical Canon scheme for me since my film Eos 33 20yrs ago), so all the exposure triangle is set on the camera dials; the control ring alters the exposure compensation, needed when I (rarely) use autoISO, so it's basically not working 95% of the times. My backup RP, having just two body dials, has a slightly different setup: Av is on top dial, and ISO is on a push button + front dial. Unfortunately the RP firmware sucks, and you can't set ISO on the top dial as you can do on the R6. Exposure simulation is also disabled; I come from film days, so I prefer to use the EVF as it was an OVF, with an constant and balanced view of the reality. So I use the R6 as it was a DSLR basically, I find I can work better that way.

if you use eco mode do you just click it on at the start of the session you want in eco mode and then switch it off when you want to come out of the eco mode and secondly, in the intro to your earlier videos you have a messenger style bag on you while shooting - I'm looking for something to have on me while shooting to carry lens etc - what is that bag and do you recommend it - many thanks and great videos by the way with excellent content and no gimmicks! keep it up!

On sony you have a dedicated aperture and shutter speed wheel then you can change the third wheel on the back of the camera to be ISO, or at least that's how I do it

Jesus 10-12 batteries for a wedding!? For a year or two I worked as an assistant / 2nd shooter and with my 5DMkII would be lucky if I went through 2 batteries 😅 things have changed a lot 😂 (Came across this since I’m considering getting a R6 MkI and EF/RF adapter to go with my canon Film cameras)

Yeah, 12 is probably a bit extreme, but still, if you're not careful and use the screens 100% of the time, they drink the juice. The R6 is insane, and if you need the adapter, I highly recommend the control ring version!!!
