The bully is one of the best stories ever. The people in that town did the right thing, the only thing, that could have been done to deal with that bast*rd. And they all stuck to their story and it worked out just right for everybody. It was brilliant. He asked for it and got it.

@@gerardroll6468 There isn't anything wrong with referring to his wife & sil as his ladies. He looks at Arielle as his baby sis; the love he has for her is as strong as a blood bond would be. I love when his baby brothers come for a visit too. I get a kick out of it because I'm the baby of 3 girls & am the tallest. Jamel's brothers tower over him. The hillside stranglers were two men that pretended they were police officers and they would pull over women and they would rape them and kill them. It makes it sometimes hard to say as a female that you would just pull over anywhere. The last time I was ever pulled over I drove into a well what area that was a gas station and convenience store and when the officer asked me why I didn't stop immediately I told him that coincidentally I had just watched some videos of serial killers and one of them were the hillside stranglers. He sat there and he goes well that's nice and told me that I had a light out in my front left of my car. And he just gave me a warning. That was when I lived in Mesa Arizona.

There are detectives who say they know exactly who did it, but there is not enough proof. There are 2 books on the subject that I know of. I highly recommend reading either one. There are also numerous documentaries. All are interesting because its a pretty fascinating case.

@Cassxowary
@Cassxowary Жыл бұрын
Not true or how that works. They bully for the same reason people see no problem with anything unequal done to others like us and animals like us. Because they’re afraid, hurt, brainwashed, made to feel inferior and therefore overcompensate by trying to force a false sense of superiority upon them. If they knew no one is better or worse, superior or inferior, there wouldn’t be any problems in the world.

Not that it makes what Ken Rex McElroy did any less terrible, but he actually didn't burn down Trena's family's home and kill their dog twice, only once. He had taken Trena to live with him and his girlfriend and sometime either while she was pregnant or right after she'd given birth, she'd had enough of his abuse and she and the girlfriend both ran away, Trena going back to her parents' house. Ken came and got her back and then, when her parents were gone, he burned down her parents'house and killed their dog. Also, it wasn't that the police, sheriff, and politicians were part of the mob, it's just that they were pretty ineffective against Ken Rex McElroy and his lawyer. Also, the town of Skidmore only had about 400 residents, so the town didn't have a police department and the nearest sheriff's office was about 12 miles away. The town only had a town marshall, and he was only an elected official with no prior law enforcement experience. I think his position was just so that he could keep order in the town, not for taking on a hardened criminal like Ken Rex McElroy and his goons that the real law enforcement couldn't even catch. Ken Rex McElroy managed to intimidate that dude into resigning his position.
@LittleBlueOwl318

That was his prior WIFE, not just a gf. There's soooo much more than what Mr Ballen mentioned. Ken Rex had gotten himself out of nearly 30 felony charges over the years w/ help from his mob lawyer. And that's not even counting all his dozens of other crimes that he bullied folks into not reporting. He was a thief, a bully, a liar, a con man, an arsonist, an animal abuser, a cattle rustler (yes!) and a child sex predator. Trena was not his only victim - there were many. So many. He'd also shot another man in the stomach over a property line dispute, but was never charged because the guy lived. Then he shot Bo Bowenkamp - and nearly killed him, too - over penny candy. When that hearing (for the attempted murder of Bowenkamp) took place in the city MILES away from their little town, the townsfolk had to form a caravan on the trip, for their own safety, to go testify because they thought Ken Rex would kill them all. Ken was not held on bail or anything and it was postponed or something for some reason. He walked out of that county seat courthouse that day, right along with the townspeople who were there and he stared them down. For the next several days he terrorized them all. He'd call them and growl and then hang up. He'd sit in his truck all night outside their houses, shooting his gun in the air to scare them, etc... He'd even brought a big rifle with a bayonet to the bar the night before his death and threatened people with it. Especially Mr Bowenkamp. The whole town was HELL for 2 decades and that particular day, they decided that they had no other option than to finally take justice into their own hands. Some people DO deserve karma. Add: It's also worth noting that the Sheriff attended the meeting they held that day... he told the folks all they could do was form a neighborhood watch, wished them well and drove off to go back to the city.

My dad was a truck driver from like 1995 to 2012 and he didn't get a cell phone until around 1997 or 1998 and I remember when he got it I was around 8 and it was exciting, and those first few years the only way to call us at home was to find a pay for or one at a terminal belonging to his company. And it still was not the best it broke up a lot and the area served was not as big so he couldn't call unless it was a town with service, the countryside had very little coverage at that point. And I remember going a little ways out of my city by a few miles the coverage would stop until you got to the next town of a decent size. So cell phones were rare before the late 90s and even in the late 90s service was very spotty. And the lady is right around the turn of the century and by 2005 pay phones had started going away. There are still a couple in my city I can think of but that is 1% of what there used to be. I do think there should be a few here and there because sometimes people lose there phone or break it or its battery dies or they are too poor and may have enough change to make an emergency sort of call. So I don't think they should be 100% extinct still, as businesses don't always like you to use there phones either.

I'm definitely feeling the same about the poor, innocent dogs. That shows they have no soul. Some very wealthy eccentric person likely wanted the art for his own personal collection. Rembrandt. Wow.

Cellphones were more affordable to the general public and smaller in 97. I didnt have one til 2001. In the 80s mostly business people and rich people had them. And they were huge. LOL

The Hitchhiker story reminded me of the scariest Mr Ballen story about driving at night -- I think "doppelganger" is the title, or it's in the title. A girl of about 13 driving at night with her mom, super slowly because of the dark and/or deer or whatever.......

Honestly, Charles not going to the cops because he viewed it as his fault for letting the guy in is a flawed and dangerous mentality, not unlike women who get kidnapped and raped while walking home at night. Blaming yourself for putting yourself in that situation is damaging.
