I think Church needs Cardinal Sarah due to his tradition Catholic view eventhough Cardinal Tagle is okay too due to his smiling face. Actually none of those have big possibilities to become the next Pope, except Sarah for a brief time frame window. Considering that Pope Francis enjoys a quite high health level for his age, Sarah will be 80 in less than an year, so his chances are now near none, unless there is a surprise on the other day round. Tagle and Parolin, both have their own share of scandals very well stated on the media for quite a while now and nobody will likely to vote on each of them. So; my take for a today's conclave would the following: There would be a tension between 2 Cardinals and a 3rd choice that would become the next Pope if no agreement was made on between the other 2: The contestants would be: >Tolentino Cardinal Mendonça from Portugal - He would easily to win most of the European votes, plus some moderate votes from Brazil and elsewhere. >William Cardinal Goh from Singapore - He would to win some of the votes from Asia and elsewhere, but he's a Charismatic and some of both the conservative fringe and the so called "Cardinals from the nowhere" would have some difficulty in voting for him. >Robert Cardinal Sarah: Yes! He's still on the first row till June 2025! And if there isn't one other with suffix traction to succeed he'll be the consensus choice for what would be seen as such a "transitional" papacy. Too conservative for many if not most Pope Francis appointments, but perhaps nice enough on the eyes of the "Cardinals from the nowhere" given his African origin...
