Thanks for the tips! A few years back I purchased an Archery Kit from Third Hand Archery Accessories and it came with the tread grip tape, bow holder, stabilizer straps and a foot rest. After seeing a buddy have the bottom of his climber get loose and fall to the base of the tree I liked the idea of the stabilizer straps which connects the upper portion of the the tree climber to the bottom. The foot brace is a rather simple device, basically an adjustable strap that attaches to the top of the Summit stand that makes a loop with a piece of PVC pipe to put your feet on. Basically it allows you to push your feet out in front of you and you feel like your in a recliner. I have trouble with my legs when I sit for long periods of time. The foot brace allows me to stay in my tree stand all day if I want to. There are videos on their website which explains things better than I can.

Oh yea years ago I was using an old amaker heavy steel tree stand hunting in palm tree on a management area in Florida. The bottom dropped out on me. It was awful getting down and bringing the top part of the stand with me. Banged my head all the way down. I always attach the bottom to the top to prevent that from happening now. I like the idea of that foot brace. That is a good idea. Especially for long sits. Thanks for the info!

thanks for tips. now how in hell do yo separate the bottom from the top when unboxing? Im trying not to damage the stand

So you should just be able to slide it right out. It could be that the seat straps or something is caught. It should just slide right out. They are nested together.

Good luck this year the deer are on the move down here on the coast of Georgia

Yea I do some hang stands as well moving from the stick over, but I always use a lifeline and a safety harness. In my early years I used nothing, very foolish of me, then of course started using the safety harness, but that was only useful once you are in place. Then I started using the lifeline in conjunction with my safety harness. This way I am attached at all times. It does ease your mind moving over to the stand knowing if something happens you are attached. Good luck this season!

I don't have a set of them, but I have seen several people mention them. I can see how they can be a big help.

I’ve been treestand hunting for 40 years and never used them. When you get to the desired height. All you need to do is bounce to set the teeth in the bark. Don’t ever put your knees under the bar and push up while your sitting it will detach the top part of your stand from the tree.
