Whatever goal an omnipotent and omnibenevolent God would want to achieve by allowing suffering -- no matter how great and unimaginable said goal is -- that same goal could be achieved without allowing suffering. Because that is what omnipotence entails and because that is what omnibenevolence desires. Therefore, the Christian God is either not omnipotent or is not omnibenevolent. Also, the fact that He chose to not reveal His entire plan to us from the start despite claiming to be light without darkness makes absolutely no sense.
