I hope so as well, but unfortunately, PTSD and war go hand-in-hand. Those who survive this criminal invasion of Ukraine, they are going to have legitimate mental wounds that will be difficult for those around them to understand. It's just a fact. My hope is that the Ukrainian Ministry for Veterans Affairs, their President, and Parliament put the needs of their veterans first. As a service connected disabled veteran myself, I hope they adopt a system similar to our Department of Veterans Affairs. I know there are a lot of differing opinions out there, but as far as I'm concerned, our VA has done well, and they continue to improve. I can only hope the Ukrainian veterans receive the same.

In war time, especially when the Russians have faked surrender. The guy survived a battering of explosives, but still failed to voice or place his hands in the air, could have been shock... If I was in a position where my enemy was close to a difficult clearing position I would not think twice as that get's you killed. You have your own perspective in life, but I highly advice you to put yourself in the shoes of Ukranian people and what happens in war time. Imagine helping someone who has surrendered, getting water etc... To then be shot, blown up, or any other number of things. Would you risk your life by thinking twice? If you would you would not survive very long... In war people play on your emotions, then strike. It's not only Russians like this... It's everyone in war, looking for opportunities where they will survive and take you out. Also remember: You do not respawn, if you go down... You won't come back.
