Mt. Fuji is truly a symbolic mountain of Japan, and its majestic form always impresses people!
In Part 1 and Part 2, we will introduce you to 30 places where you can enjoy the spectacular autumn leaves of Mt. Fuji.
In the first part, we collected 15 autumn leaves spots relatively close to Mt. Fuji.
Please fully enjoy the scenery of "autumn leaves" that gorgeously adorn Mt. Fuji!

■Lake Yamanakako ( Late October - Mid November )
Lake Yamanaka is one of the "Fuji Five Lakes" in southeastern Yamanashi Prefecture, and its lakeside area offers an excellent view of the majestic Mt. Fuji from close quarters.
■Lake Kawaguchi ( Early to late November )
Lake Kawaguchi is one of the "Fuji Five Lakes" located in the southeastern part of Yamanashi Prefecture. The lakeside is a perfect vantage point from which to view the majestic Mt. Fuji.
■Koyo-dai ( early to late November )
Koyo-dai is located in the southern part of Lake Saiko and is selected as one of the "100 best autumn leaves viewing spots in Japan" for its view of Mt. Fuji.
■Lake Motosu ( Late October to mid-November )
Lake Motosu is one of the "Fuji Five Lakes" . It is a dammed lake formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Fuji, and is the third largest of the Fuji Five Lakes in area.
■Fujigane Plateau ( Early to late November )
Fujigane is a highland area that stretches to the northwest of Mt.Fuji, where a satoyama-like rural landscape spreads out and Mount Fuji rises in the distance.
■Asagiri Highlands ( mid to late November )
Asagiri Kogen is a highland area stretching toward the western foot of Mt. Fuji, dotted with ranches, campgrounds, roadside stations, theme parks, and other tourist attractions that offer magnificent views of Mt. Fuji.
■Shiraito Falls ( mid to late November )
Shiraito Falls is one of the most well-known waterfalls in Japan, and is designated as a national "scenic beauty" and "natural monument.
■Lake Tanzawa ( Mid to late November )
Lake Tanzawa is an artificial lake located in the western part of Kanagawa Prefecture, famous for the view of Mt. Fuji from its shore.
■Hakone Lake Ashinoko ( early to late November )
Hakone is a highland area formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Hakone and is known as one of the "100 best autumn leaves viewing spots in Japan.
Lake Ashinoko is a caldera lake formed by the volcanic activity of Mt. Hakone.
■Onshi Hakone Park ( Early to late November )
Onshi Hakone Park is located on a peninsula called Togashima, which juts out from the western shore of Lake Ashinoko, and commands a panoramic view of Lake Ashinoko and Mt. Fuji.
■Fujimi Toge (Fujimi Pass) ( early to late November )
Fujimi Toge is one of the best viewing points from which to view Lake Ashinoko and Mt. Fuji. The view from Tenkakudai, located a little ahead of the parking lot, is excellent.
■Taikanzan ( Early to late November )
Taikanzan (Mt. Taikan) is located in the southeast of the Hakone Outer Ring Mountains and offers a spectacular view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji.
■Ashinoko Skyline (Shakushitoge and Mikunitoge) ( Early to late November )
Ashinoko Skyline is a toll highway that straddles Kanagawa and Shizuoka Prefectures, and is a pleasant sightseeing road that offers views of both Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashinoko. "Shakushi Pass" and "Mikuni Pass" along the road.
■Otome Pass ( mid to late November )
Otome Pass is located on the border between Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture and Hakone Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, and is one of the "Three Fujimi Passes".
