Yep, just MORE unfounded hate for Sega coming from all the Nintendo fanboys... 🙄 Just simply because the Genny is the 'PREFERRED' tried-and-true 16-bit platform to develop homebrews and ports on, and also because it's getting a few more extra new games added to its ever-growing library!

This is so weird. I think from today's point of view, some of these games look insanely good and extremely technically impressive for the Megadrive/Genesis. But then I thought - when someone showed my kid-self these games back then, I would not have found it all that impressive compared to the regular games at the time...? How does that make any sense? Does anyone know what I mean?

Yes I understand what you’re saying. It’s because most games are indie’s that sometimes lack some QoL performances or proper feedback when doing damage or running for example. Basically, the professional developers from back in the day vs independent developers of today

A bunch of them are ports from technically inferior systems and/or they are puzzle platformers that look very simple, assets-wise. Paprium, Pier Solar, Xeno Crisis, Tanglewood, Demons of Asteborg and maybe a couple others would have been impressive even back then. Darius Extra Version and Ultracore are literally conversion of long lost games that were developed for the system originally, IIRC. Also keep in mind that you remember seeing those games on a CRT TV. If you see Mega Drive/Genesis games nowadays, upscaled on a LCD TV, they usually look like crap. That's because they were designed with a CRT in mind, therefore they used a lot of tricks with dithering to show color shades and soft curved lines that weren't really there. They were artifacts produced by pixels "bleeding" color into each other. There are a few modern scalers that can emulate that effect on modern TVs, but that requires high resolution. The Retrotink 4K comes to mind.

All these games should have one website where they are sold or ordered , And all prices at $24.99 Then we would see the super resurgence’s , especially the developers are looking for .! Price, availability and consistency A lot of these games aren’t even know to the general public let alone know where to find them. We need one media channel that encompasses all the rest or media channels in one show . And one centralized buying store

It’s good to do previews before releasing games and taking into account what the reviewer said and fix the cons before release.! Papprium is an a.i nightmare .! For some much time and energy’ and hard work to be ruined by not recognizing the a.i Is very terrible

Paprium is very much unfinished. The developer, Fonzie, took 10 years to finish it and was completely out of budget. It's a miracle he even released something. People thought it would be vaporware and that Fonzie ran away with the money. In fact, many backers never received their copy yet and a lot of people that worked on it weren't paid. Look it up, there are videos that talk extensively about Paprium. The good news is that Fonzie made a Kickstarter and collected a good amount of money that hopefully will be used to perfect the game and fix the bugs. It will also be ported to modern consoles. There's even a dongle that could be preordered that supposedly will allow backers of the project to update the physical carts to the new improved version of the game.
