There are several of these that I wouldn't call good ideas, but they sold. The Xero Shoes, dog cakes, and microwavable journal are not worthwhile, IMO. At the same time, there are people who buy dogs from puppy mills or put Ring internet-connected cameras in their bathrooms/bedrooms, so assuming the general public has good taste, morals, or sense is not a good one.

You obviously didn't hear about Ring employees and contractors threatening and blackmailing users through the intercom function. Surprisingly (sarcasm) putting an internet-connected camera controlled by Amazon in your bathroom or bedroom is a bad idea. There's a reason they're being investigated by the FTC. I also recommend you look up Brandon Jackson's case as well. It didn't involve a Ring doorbell, but Amazon did shut down a large portion of his smart home setup as well as his account because some driver thought he heard something he didn't.

@@encycl07pedia-First of all, why would I look up something that DIDN'T involve Ring, the company subject of this conversation? Second of all, you're saying this like the FTC is actually going to do anything to the absolute higher ups of Ring and that it's going to be the death of the company. Yes some people in the company are scum bags, but the FTC is not interested in witch hunts or killing companies, they're interested in regulating trade so that companies don't have an "unfair" edge over other companies through illegal business practices. What you're referring to are CIVIL criminal matters, not the per view of the FTC unless through these actions they threatened and/or black mailed their competitors. Only then would the FTC care. Third and finally, if you're installing a smart camera connected to the internet in your bathroom/bedroom, then you are creating the temptation for something like this to happen. Surprisingly (sacrcasm) someone followed through on the temptation and then decided to exploit you for personal gain.

Every time I hear about something in a reality show it reminds me why I never watch them. The hosts are just straight up cruel. If you say some of the things the host of Shark Tank say to a child but to a child instead, like "you will never make anything useful in this world", it can be considered child abuse

Great episode. The biggest takeaway for me was that Shark Tank's judges often are too blind to recognize when a great opportunity comes a knocking. The only upside about associating with biased judges is the extreme, and most often positive exposure that one can gain from being on their show.
