Ah, the memories. Herzog Zwei was a fantastic game that was way ahead of its time, yet it seems to get so little love. Part shmup, part RTS, great music, nice graphics, fast and solid gameplay, and dual endings. Great stuff that really needed a sequel.

Yeah. It seems to get overshadowed by other Mega Drive / Genesis Games. I loved games like this that took risks by melding genres.

Better year than I remember. A decent number of my favorite NES games and the rise of the mighty Sega Genesis. Also a great year for the arcades. This was also the year my friends and I played the Famicom Super Mario Bros 3 on the Play-Choice 10 arcade before it was released on the NES. My cousin got a Sega Genesis when everyone else had an NES. Had a few launch titles in the beginning.

I had to wait until 1990 for the Mega Drive release but it was worth the wait with plenty of games to chose from straight away. My NES kept me busy until then though. So many great games, especially at the end of its cycle.
