As a Physiotherapist who works with the elderly, we prescribe things like the tush turner and other gadgets that allow people with mobility issues to be more independent. There are also things like electric can openers and long handled aids for when they have issues with their upper limb. Just because it sounds stupid to the general population doesn't mean it doesn't have a use

To be fair, many of these products are actually intended for disabled folks, but since you can't really market things like that and be successful, we end up with these 'oh wow! you can't use toothpaste! ads. The reason people pick fun of them, is because in many cases, the abled can't see any reason why THEY would need them, so they can't see any reason why ANYONE would need them. And really, it’s just a different version of the garment/accessory known as a “dickie”, which is the top part of a shirt, without the rest of the shirt. People have been using versions of these for literally centuries. They are still useful. Definitely. My mom is 90, and getting her in and out of a car - any car - is very difficult these days. I’ve injured my neck and could have used one of those on occasion, too. There are plenty of things to make fun of in this world. I wish people wouldn’t find it necessary to make fun of disabilities.

Get a lower car for one thing. Secondly, please keep your 90yr old mom off the road. Thirdly, even able bodies are sometimes temporarily disabled. When something is funny, it's funny. Not everybody needs to agree but that doesn't mean you're a bad person for saying it.

"Tush Turner"? Yuk! In the UK, it's simply called a Revolving Seat Pad, and I'd be lost without mine. I actually loved the pajama jeans. I'm not really a fan of denim because i find it very uncomfortable, but had a waitressing job that required jeans. After a few weeks of bending and stretching in stiff denim pants, I ordered a pair of pajama jeans thinking if they were a bad product I could just wear them around the house. It turned out that they fit my curvy frame well and were SO comfortable! I wore those pants to work and got compliments on them. Soon several other ladies at my job were wearing them also. They were easy to move in and pretty durable, as they were still in decent shape after the two years I worked there. I may have to see if they make yoga pants because I'm a stay at home mom now!

I have a MyPillow wannabe. It's the same exact product. I'm amazed at the MyPillow did as well as it did because they had come out with the same type of pillow that had cut up pieces of memory foam that had one side of it that was hard, Florida sort of like a rind. Before the my pillow guy came out with a different color on his pillow, these pillows had some sort of bamboo cloth cover and they weren't touting the memory foam pillow as much as they were touting the bamboo cover. But I tried the precursor of the my pillow and I tried to my pillow at the friend's house and I tried the Five Below and I dearly love it simply because it didn't cost me the original price of $79 or all of the $10 reduction increments, I think I saw it somewhere for 39.

Regarding the "comfort wipe", a bidet works sooo much better.
@twistedpixie697210 ай бұрын
For people who didn’t have the means to buy a bidet, the comfort wipes is amazing for people with limited mobility. When I had my bilateral mastectomy (breast cancer) I used them in combination. The bidet leaves you with very wet “bits” that unless you want to go change your underwear for dry ones, the comfort wipe (or similar products), is a must have.

Some of these are great ideas. the Tush Turner is just what a person who had a hip replacement needs to use to get in and out of a car. And the cami strap makes a lot more sense than wearing an extra shirt. So many these items are great for older folks or those with disabilities. I think if the writer of this video looked at it from their POV, they would see the benefits. While some of these items are ridiculous, there are needs for some of the others.

Did You Know - A large number of "as seen on TV" ads are created for people with disabilities and limitations and to make it appear more normalized in an ableist society. The reason that the actors are so "obviously ridiculous and over the top" is because they wouldn't sell as much if they used it for their inteded purposes - to help disabled and old people with limited mobility.
