Hi James, I have loved watching all of your van build videos, so thanks for uploading them. I too have done a few things to my NV 200 after watching how you did it. I'm now looking for an insurance company. I too have a non- fixed bed. Any ideas of an insurance company would be brilliant. Keep up the good work. :-))

Hi, glad the videos have been useful! I had modified van insurance with Brentacre for years and they've been brilliant. A competitive price (though it is always a bit more than a standard vehicle) and you can just let them know about changes the vehicle and they'll add them to your policy with no extra charge. Other names to try are A-plan and Adrian Flux

great vid, i would love to know how accurate the motion detector / start-stop features are, I guess this is how you would first know someone is in/ around your car. Is one more affective than the other ?

Thanks! Funnily enough I turned it on when the van had it MOT and service, and I got an alert whenever they started driving the van, so it worked well! It wouldn't alert you if someone was around your car, but if it moves then it will

@@LensOfJames thanks for the reply. And yes, you are correct. No alert if someone is just around the car. If someone was to, let's say - get into the car and start raiding the glove compartment, a vibration alert should go off? How affective is that? Currently deciding between Carlock or SafeTag. You wouldn't have tested carlock by any chance?

The alert is only if the car moves, as it's triggered by GPS. :) I haven't tried carlock trackers so don't know what they offer

@@LensOfJames interesting. Car lock offers that feature. I've just double checked and SafeTag and it doesn't. I just assumed. That may have made up my mind. They are basically the same price but the vibration detection is definitely a feature I am after. Thanks for helping

The cheaper you go, the more people are having your data. i have heard about a tracking company that was selling driving style, speed and all that stuff to insurance companies. then you wonder why your quotes are so high. Now you know.. I'll gladly to the 5£/month. keep in mind you get all the updates and support, so it only makes sense to pay a fee.

Is there one that I can just stick to the steering wheel right under a thief's nose, 😂 in the OBD port, first place they would look and just dash out of the window. Am I missing something

There are different products for different people - not everyone's buying one because of crime. Might be a company car or to monitor your kid. Sounds like a hardwired option is the one for you though. That said, a thief could take out any tracker if they looked hard enough.

@LensOfJames. FYI the barcode also contains the numbers hidden by your fingers in the video. You can scan it with a free barcode scanner app.

Good point! SafeTag have said that there are two "states" for SafeTag trackers once they've been registered to an account; activated or cancelled (previously activated). So there's no need to worry about someone activating your trackers 😅
