I think if setting can be considered a genre they're pretty damn similar at least and from the context of the video I feel like that is what the narrator was talking about. late medieval without fantasy elements and more sim elements rather than arcade. M&B certainly falls under that in some regards and I understand the comparison completely.

Sir Delta So by the same logic command & conquer is the same as a fps game if they share the same setting? Or are Halo like xcom just because you fight aliens? A setting is not a genre and there has been plenty of medieval games before both those games. Mount and blade are mostly a army management game and comparing it to a open world rpg game is just way off. It doesn't make sense to compare them. Also, there was no magic and stuff in medieval times so it's just "medieval". If it has magic, mythical creatures and/or fantasy races it's fantasy/low-fantasy.

Quentin Els Ah ok, that's a fair point I suppose. Although Randy tweeted that he, as both a designer and a player, doesn't agree with micro transactions and finds them to be problematic. I'm not saying that this is confirmation that we won't have them but perhaps it suggests they will only serve to supply cosmetics rather than weapons and the likes. Gotta trust in the fellas over at Gearbox. Borderlands is my favourite game series of all time and they've said that the next one will be the biggest yet. BLUE FIRE Well Bluepoint didn't code the game, all the original code that ran the original PS2 version is still there. They tweaked a few things, completely remade all the visuals from scratch, and used a new engine, but it's not like they looked at the original game then proceeded to develop it again.

I have Hunt: Showdown and MAN! It's intense. The community from what I have seen has been growing. They need to work on the graphics and server things but it looks like a promising work in progress. Met some cool people on there as well. It feels like an fps+Dark Souls + Red Dead Redemption

Yes, Hawken really had many more levels of customization to be desired. Ideally, I would love to see something with some persistent online multiplayer with team/clans fighting over a grid like map (a type of conquest mode, much like that of Chromehounds and Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf). Something sustainable, maybe with a player trading economy implemented as well. *Mech amen*. I suppose there is a lot of buzz/rumors of a Mech Assault 3 or Mechwarrior type game coming to Xbox. Who knows?

am I the only one that thinks 1/2 or these games might be decent , year after year same old games , they have a sick trailer but the game is trash , they have a sick concept but they cant pull it off , haven't played a game in years that I could look back on and say yeah that was amazing.

Very few games in the past couple years I can look back on and say "that was amazing". A few off the top of my head would be Stardew Valley, Darkest Dungeon, and WoW:Legion.

+Sir Delta Except " Total War Three Kingdoms" isn't the same as "Total War Warhammer 3". "Three Kingdoms" is the first full fledged historical game since the release of Total War Rome II in 2013, so I think the expectations should be quite high.
