Sin & Punishment: Star Successor and the Time Crisis franchise are real masterpieces. And Time Crisis 5 needs a console port bad. Oh, how about the Operation Wolf series?

Nippon Columbia is making a new light gun game for the Switch called Bang! Bang! Bandits! This might be a sign that light gun games will make a return!

Light Gun games (Time Crisis) and 3rd person rail shooters (Panzer Dragoon) are different genres.

Hey, I'm looking for an ARCADE game, I can't remember which it was. It was DEFINITELY two-player (option), and I think there may have been candles/diva lamps(?) representing health. There were light rail "pistols" used, and there was a boss segment whee a giant (grey?) undead boss chases you throughout the stage, and you either, I think, needed to hit his arms or head to get past unscathed, but the decor of the stage seemed to be inside a dark haunted house and there were skeletons, possibly with "don't shoot" civilians ... I don't know if I'm looking at House of the Dead 3 after looking at the first stage or not, but it had an extremely similar aesthetic to House of the Dead, though there were definitely PISTOLS ... Though I don't remember a "police uniform", and the boss used his bare hands ... There may have been a pirate theme(?) (not 100% sure) Does anyone know which game it was?

Idk chief, im gonna spitball a few games your way that I think you might be talking about: House of the Dead 1, Deadstorm Pirates, CarnEvil, The Silent Hill Arcade Game, Ninja Assault, or Vampire Night. Hopefully you are thinking about one of those.

@@thelonestar9540 Hey, thanks for ALL of those man, I really appreciate the help =] I just CAN'T quite find the game I was looking for, even after looking at all of those too =[ In the end, because of the western aesthetic with level design and/or weapons, I've come to the conclusion that it MUST'VE been one of the House of the Dead games, the "diva" lamps/candles representing health in some of them look too similar, so maybe I remembered some parts wrong ... I think I was completely wrong about the "pirate" theme. That "giant" grey-skinned boss had a physique that looked like Rumbleman from "Ready 2 Rumble" round 2. He had a similar animation as the "police" boss in House of the Dead 1, as well as that "Justice - Type-0053" or something in House of the Dead 4, but I don't remember a costume or club weapon ... He was bare-armed, attacking with heavy horizontal swipes to the side with each step forward in each quick encounter "segment" when he starts to catch up (where if you don't shoot him, he manages to "land" a heavyswipe on both players). I seem to remember grey skin, and only TWO arms, and his (grey) head looked more neutral, it didn't look quite as "visceral/tongue(?)" as the one in HoD4, and I seem to remember standard enemy encounters BETWEEN these mid-level "quick encounter" segments with the boss where he catches up ... I remember there were definitely PISTOLS, and the health DEFINITELY had these "diva" candle icons ... And I think some segments were in some kind of dark "house", maybe a mansion ... Still, it was a long time ago, I have to conclude I must've remembered some parts COMPLETELY wrong somehow ... The aesthetic to HoD is WAY too similar, so I think that it MUST'VE been one of the HOD games, even though none of them are 100% familiar ... It seems there were 2 spinoff games ... Maybe I should check them too ... Thanks again man, you've been an incredible help =] It feels like you helped unlock some of these memories (lol)

Area 51 & Revolution X were better than a bunch of these games. Surprisred neither of them made the list

Mentions Gal Gun on 3 separate occasions, which are basically just the same game repackaged, but no mention of arcade classics like Revolution X and Area 51. What a trash list.

Agreed. Best games of the genre are missing on this list. For example Arcade Jurassic Park -games, all 2D shooters on Arcade as well home. Not to even mention obvious top console -games like REZ.
