I know this video is old so you probably already know, but using makemkv to combine different audio mixes into the same bluray is really helpful! No more two setups synced up lol

You know I haven’t tried to burn a Blu-ray to do this yet. Just muxing the sound together for playback in VR. But this would be a great thing to finally do. Is that what you’re doing? Also, haven’t been able to get 4ks to be recognized on my pc. So I can only do it for regular Blu-ray’s with Dolby Atmos.

@@VirtualRobotsRevolt KZbin erased my comment but yes I do something similar but play on a 3dtv without burning to disc! I use mkvtoolnix to combine/sync tracks and MakeMKV forums contain info on flashing your drive to support 4k :) I have an lg wh14ns40 drive which works well.

Finally somone has a 3d projector lol...in my opinpn 3d projectors ate better bc od the size you can get..let me clear tvs and prokectors are in there owm separate class they can both be top notcg in they own class. What projoector are you using im using the jmgo v8

Agreed. I just returned my optima uhd30 due to it not working with my set up and was far more glitchy than my former Benq 720p projector. I am now waiting on a Benq HT3550 to show up. Fingers crossed it works for me. :)

No problem, thanks for watching and the comment! Pacific Rim is definitely reference material 3D. A lot of that "native 3D" stuff in my opinion is not super important. Some of my favorite 3D movies for their 3D were done in post production :) I think the movie industry has gotten a lot better at it, which helps.

I suppose it might depend on where you are trying to view it. When I view it in VR it looks amazing at the settings I rip them on (almost max). However, if I were to rip them to be viewed on my projector I would assume the quality wouldn't be quite as good since it would convert them to side by side or top and bottom 3D versus framepacking 3D. If its for VR its perfect, if for the other purpose that would take some more research. Thanks for the comment!

For some reason PSVR doesn't give nearly the same depth and pop-outs than my passive 3D tv. Don't understand why, because the games on the headset feel super immersive.

I haven't tested it in a long time. But from what I remember there wasn't too much options for adjusting the picture. Also, it doesn't help that you are watching the movie in a void versus like in a virtual environment like a movie theater like you can on PC VR and Oculus VR mobile devices.

Great list. I own all of them except Life of Pi. Kong Skull Island is really good 3d. They went above and beyond on Jurassic Park. Every frame was redone. Even added foreground 3d effects using cgi. It is my go to viewing for JP. Of course the Hobbit was shot in 3D so it looks amazing as well.

i love 3D so much i have 139 3D movies. I have the 3020 Epson 3D projector & 135'' Elite screen. I upgraded my room to a darker black wall panels and ceiling making the room 100% darker. Covering the windows too making 3D flying around the room plus i had to buy a new HDMI 3D cable. A darker room makes the effects work 100% better. i enjoy my 3D forever.

Thanks for your video man • I have 4 out of your 5 picks. Let me add the following.... I own about 100 3D Blu-ray movies, so I have seen my fair share of them, I watch them mostly on my PSVR because the screens are OLED and the perfect contrast is just amazing, I prefer watching my 3D movies on my PSVR over my HP Reverb G2 because of the OLED, the REVERB G2 looks phenomenal in terms of being super high resolution, but the contrast sucks. With that said I wanna add what I think is an ABSOLUTE treat of a 3D movie, this movie is spectacular even without 3D, but the 3D treatment in my humble opinion takes it to another level, and that movie is “The Great Gatsby”, yes ladies and gentlemen, this movie’s 3D treatment is absolutely STUNNING, the images jump off the screen, it is sumptuous and just spectacular, my favorite 3D movie.

Thanks for watching! The PSVR is a great way to watch 3D blu-rays especially with how easy it is to play them (just pop in the disc and play). I loved it when they first added that functionality, but my PSVR has always given me drift issues and it never sat on my head comfortably compared to my other headsets. I never tried a Reverb G2 before. Thanks for your insight on that. The Great Gatsby is an awesome 3D movie as well, if you liked that movie have you seen Hugo? It's another really good 3D movie that isn't an action movie made by Martin Scorsese and has Ben Kingsley in it. Keep on growing that already big 3D collection you have. :)

There are so many honorable mentions I should have mentioned. But that just gives me an excuse to make another video about 3D Blu-rays :). Black Panther and Captain Marvel were pretty crazy as well as far as the MCU goes. And I need to rewatch the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy as well. I believe that one is also very impressive.

Dredd is my favorite 3D film. I think Predator was a really good 3D up conversion. I have Jurassic Park but I have not gotten around to watching it yet. I agree that Pacific Rim is an awesome 3D movie. I saw it in the theater that way and was highly impressed.

GOTG - Definitely the best 3D conversion ever, so good that it makes native 3D look inferior. Life of Pi - Very subtle use of native 3D but suits the tone of the movie. Aspect Ratio change is just one scene for 2.39 and one scene for 4:3, that's it. Jurassic World - Definitely one of the best old movie conversion to 3D. Better conversion than Terminator. But I feel that Titanic conversion is better that this. Force Awakens - Not seen this one yet. Will check it out. Pacific Rim - Not seen this one too.

Thanks for the comment! Life of Pi the aspect ratio was very unexpected and I hadn't seen stuff like that before. I'm pretty sure there's 2 or 3 scenes that do this, I could be wrong though. I watch Ghostbusters 2016 the other day and it was so completely overboard with the frame breaking effects it was almost too distracting. So I like the subtleness of Life of Pi 3D. :) You'll for sure have to check out Force Awakens and Pacific Rim and let me know how you like them in 3D. :)

Any 3d fan should look at some of the 3d films made in the 50,s that are available,Son of Cochise,Inferno,House of Wax,,It Came From Outer Space ,Gun Fury,all in fantastic 3d but unfortunately overlooked by many .

Those are great, too. My favorite old 3D movie for the 3D is The Mask. Such a crazy movie. House of wax and creatures of the black lagoon are amazing, too.

I watch them on my Xbox One S with a Optoma UHD30 projector. Also, I use my 3D Sony BDP-S6700 Blu ray player I modified to be region free to play region locked 3D blu-rays I have. I'm debating on buying a stand alone 4k player in the future though. My xbox needing to do massive updates before i watch movies is getting pretty annoying. Also, it can be glitchy sometimes on audio.

@@DanielMazz I just returned my Optoma UHD 30 because it was getting kinda annoying with its glitches (stuck on inputs and becoming unresponsive). Also, for the throw distance as well. I just purchased a 120" projector screen and it was just barely able to work with it, but I've never been super happy with its colors anyway. So I'm now waiting on BenQ HT3550 to show up and I'll see how that one works for me. AT least it will have a much shorter throw distance and will be easily able to produce the size picture I need. Did you ever find the projector you were looking for?

I saw the original Star Wars when it came out and The Force Awakens was a piss poor carbon copy of the original. Disney does not have any originality, but the worse part is it HATES what Star Wars stood for. All of a sudden the good guys are portrayed as impulsive, corrupt , whiney, & dumb and the bad guys are just misunderstood and want to be free to do their evil deeds without repercussions.

I was fine with Force Awakens and still am. But i'll agree with you more recent stuff and later sequels have gotten very bad and unfortunately been a victim of disney's politics.
