You mean giving away knowledge that we have to pay for going to school? Your new to the field and what you see as helping the senior mechanics see it as taking money out of our pockets. I have no problem with homeowners learning how to fix things but go pay $20k for a year of school to learn. Not learn from a junior Hvac tech like this guy. He sells out his field for a KZbin channel and likes.

@@INKDnARMD bruh you must not do this fr. Constantly evolving technology. New refrigerants. New SEER ratings and most of our supply is kept sold to industry professionals. Homeowners know they don't have the time or desire to learn enough to work on their AC in 93 degree weather. And if it's a refrigerant problem they have to be EPA certified to buy and work with the refrigerant and will still have to call us. No shortage of money out here cuz of this guy. Maybe a few lost capacitors and some sprayed down condensers🤣they ain't bout to bust out a manometer💀

When you have your hvac/epa and you know what you’re doing you’ll always have work and you can make basically tell them what you want an hour $ 1. Respect your worth never ask for more than you’re worth. Know your limits. 2. Have a solid understanding of electricity and wires. 3. Don’t buy cheap tools. Trust me. This was a very helpful video. I did not have cold air flow, even though it’s a brand new AC unit, and discovered my air filter was super dirty and stopping the air flow. After changing the filter, it still didn’t cool the house. I did a little more research and found out that if you have a clogged/dirty filter it can cause condensation to freeze. This keeps the air from flowing. So, once I changed the filter, I turned the AC off overnight to let the ice melt and now the AC works perfectly. I wanted to share in case someone else has the same issue. I found ice outside on the AC unit (in the middle of a hot summer day) and it felt like there might be some ice in an air duct.

You just saved me from 95F 85RH inside my house. I can’t thank you enough. You have the easiest to understand videos and mapped them out in a really genius way! Only thing I would stress to other viewers is making sure A/C breaker is off in the panel, as well as the disconnect. Cut the main even, if you’re not sure which is what. I thought I discharged the capacitor with the disconnect pulled, but shorted the common to the strap. It flipped the A/C breaker. So might’ve still been live, if I discharged it correctly. My house is old and the electrics box has been moved/replaced several times. So may not be wired normally.

Another great video. I have to become my own hvac guy. Had a problem this spring (capacitor, it turns out) but when I called several shops, all I got was an answering machine or a secretary that took a message. Fall is approaching, and I'm still waiting on a call back. A friend and I replaced the capacitor after it became apparent no one was interested in the job. Seems like it would have been easy money! Now I have a new problem, so I'm back trying to diagnose it....

My new capacitor was smaller and I was concerned because the it had more prongs than the previous capacitor so I could not reconnect the wires exactly as in the before photo I took. For anyone who might be wondering, turned out it didn’t matter which of the prongs I reconnected the cable to so long as they went to the right function. Fan,common, and herm. Hey boss, I don't know if it has been said before, but here goes. My particular problem came up with the seasonal change. Wiring my thermostat based on an old thermostat's Y2 label did me no favors. Luckily I remembered the fact that I changed it out before it started warming up. I checked the desired wiring on the thermostat manual and swapped the location of the yellow wire from a Y2 slot to the Y slot. This allowed the outside cooling system to actually engage. Without that simple change, it could have cost hundreds for a technician to find this or replace everything; then hide the fact that it was just one single wire out of place.

all in all , i think you have a very good video , you just didnt cover much in my issue , which was the , HVAC float switch, also known as a condensate overflow switch or AC safety switch, is to prevent the drip pan from overflowing if the AC drain stops working properly. The AC float switch gives your AC unit the ability to detect if there is a clogged drain line and it shuts the AC off.

Your videos are amazing and so useful. I've been watching, but am in need of something a little different, namely, our forced-air system was badly installed. I'm told we have insufficient return air and that we need to improve our ductwork. Do you have, or can you make a video that would address some of the common issues found in a poorly installed system? We're in a townhouse and our middle floor never gets enough heat or cool, it's an inadequate flow and when it is scorching hot even the areas that usually get cooled are nearly impossible to cool. It's an old house and we definitely have insulation issues as well, but the system and how it was installed seems to be our biggest challenge. What would you recommend could be some fixes to improve it? Thanks so much!

Great work sir, my capacitor was bad and every 30 seconds my compressor tried to start but failed. Replacing capacitor took care of it and saved me $250 with just a $25 part and 30 minutes of my time. :) Keep up the SUPER videos!

Thanks for the video. My problem is exactly as you described with the fan running, the house isn't getting cool and the refrigerant line isn't cool, and every minute the unit buzzes but the compressor doesn't kick on. I'm ordering a capacitor, hopefully that does the trick.

Hi. I really appreciate your videos. I have a question that hopefully you can answer. I installed a brand new Lennox heat pump and air handler less than 2 years ago. This summer, the compressor blew. It was under warranty but the labor wasn't. Today, they just replaced the compressor along with some other stuff like filter drier, motor harness, contactor, etc. My AC has been running for 13 hours now and it still can't get down to the temperature I set it to (72). It was a bit of a warm day and the temperature was about 82 and humidity in my house was up to 57%, and although humidity is down to 42% (where it always used to be), the temperature is stuck at 74. It's definitely cooling, but my old system used to go down 10 degrees in 2-3hours no problem and would shut off. This isn't. The model is EL15XP1-036 (3 tons) and my house is about 2,000 sq feet living space. Do you think it's possible they installed a smaller compressor? Thanks so much in advance!

I bought a train air conditioner back in 2019 I had to have the technicians come out two or three times it kept leaking freon and it was not cooling that inside unit could not be fixed so I finally had it replaced that was the only thing that I could do it was made wrong from the factory and it was a train and thank you so much for explaining things on your videos about air conditioners it's real educational and I do enjoy your videos

Very informative. I have watched several of your videos to troubleshoot a non functioning ac unit. I tested the capacitor and it works. The fan will come on for a minute, then stop spinning. I can hear the compressor still running. Do you think it is the fan motor? The unit is about 20 years old

Love you videos. You should make a book or a collections of videos. Do you have a list of all your videos. If I were 20 years younger I would go to school for this. But I love to learn. Thanks

Thanks a lot for your excellent videos, i'm learning a lot as a DIY homeowner. Seeking some advice: i have a central AC unit with 2 condensers outside each serving 1 floor (floor 1 and floor 2). Floor 2 has cold air. The problem is that floor 1 does not output any cool air, the fan is working. I installed Floor 1 condenser with a new capacitor. I also switched the smart thermostat from floor 2 to floor 1 to test if its the thermostat, same problem. Changed to new filter. Does this mean i should focus on the control panel? thanks a lot
