Instead of looking at the reliability aspect, what would you say is the easiest brand to service? Knowing that these new appliances are built with cheaper less durable material, have some brands at least help out by making the repairability/serviceability easy to access and repair?

This saved me from having to call an expert. I had way too many things plugged into the circuit and it was not with the GFI plugs. Moved one item the power returned to the plug. Thank you!

The only time a drain hose is needed is if you use it on the dehumidifier setting only.

Many newer faucets nowadays uses the quick connect connectors. Although they make the install much easier and faster, they are more prone to leaks. I had a water filter system that started leaking after about a year after install. This alarm alerted me to the drip leak that was happening. When the alarm went off, I had forgotten I had put one of these sensor under the sink and took me awhile to figure out where the awful noise was coming from. My friend wasn’t so lucky. She woke up to a flooded kitchen which took a long time to clean up, not to mention the cost needed to repair the damage to her flooring and kitchen cabinet. So yeah, these sensors are a must for home owners!

I am in sales with Texas Appliance. There is nothing perfect anymore so make sure to always buy when the big sales and promos are at there lowest like Memorial Day, Labor day and black November along with limited quick sales like President's Day and 4th of July deals and avoid buying in the off sales months

My heater was cycling off and on for 5-9 seconds after ignition. I sanded the flame sensor and replaced the flame sensor with another I had, it’s still doing the same thing. My control board doesn’t have a light. What else should I check for? TIA.

We replaced our water heater in 2015, 10 years after buying the house. We went with a Bradford White gas heater. I keep it flushed regularly, and just replaced the anode rod. Water in our area is a bit hard, so scale and sediment build up. On our sink faucets in change the aerator cartridges once they get clogged up, and our bathtub faucets I’ve changed out the cartridge valves. Every so often, I’ll open a bath faucet to full hot and let it run for a few minutes just to help make sure there’s no sediment in the water lines. Little bit of maintenance goes a long way

Do you have a specific Brand of water heater that you recommend? I know you mentioned that you don’t have a lot of service calls on SpeedQueen washer and dryers. Is there something similar for water heaters? I need an electric 40 gal tank. I’d love a heat pump water heater but I don’t have sufficient sq footage.

I've been an HVAC EXPERT for 127 years and this high efficiency crap is always a problem up north. Condensation units are a poor design! WATER FREEZES! Corporate America and government are trying to force clean energy at homeowners expense. They have too much inventory and not enough buyers. No tax credit unless you owe the IRS. They all are after big ticket buyers and indefinite monthly income like service plans, repairs, and warranties. Lenders are dying to hand out high interest loans by any means. Learn DIY or BEND OVER!
