I’d be excited if I was kanye as the more affordable ones can be bought by lower income people, which it seems he’s for. Rather than not being able to grab any Yeezys and having to buy for $100+ more in the aftermarket. Seeing them side by side really makes you appreciate the details in the design of the Yeezys that make them a superior shoe in overall aesthetic, build quality and comfort. You can also understand YE's frustration considering his goal has always been to get good quality and design in the hands of the masses. Adidas decision here shows they had additional manufacturing capacity to produce more Yeezys increasing supply and lowering cost, but made the conscious decision to reduce quality for financial gain instead. At the end of the day people will buy them because they are more affordable but people could have had their cake and ate it too if Adidas wasn't playing games.

I have the ozweegos and Yzy500. The only difference between them is that ozweego is more comfortable with the adiprene+ at the toes, but yzy 500 is lighter. Both are great walking shoes though

I love my ozelias. They are definitely comfortable but I would not say they look like yeezys more than I would say yeezys look more like the shoes that inspired the ozelia... I tried the 700v3 and to get the comfort I get from the ozelia I had to go a whole size up which made my feet look stupid in them. They were too narrow, where as the ozelia has a wider foot and toe bed. The only thing that can constitute a similarity is the colorway layout.

I agree with most of the comparisons, however the slides comparison just doesn’t hold water, firstly there have been foam slides with fully connected construction in the past made by all sorts of companies including adidas, secondly the yzy slide has a minimalist aesthetic with chunky tooth tread, while the adidas slide has a maximalist aesthetic with no visible tread, they are just not the same, it does not matter that Kanye “ made foam slides popular” he does not own the material (foam), the idea of a slide, or the combination of the two. And thirdly, Adidas has a right to use the technology that they developed with their own r&d team, their own money, to make products for themselves, ultimately the yzy adidas COLLABORATION is just that; a collaboration and the resources that Kanye west was using to create the yzy line we’re not his own, they were adidas’s, how is he gonna get so butthurt over them using their own resources to further their own brand with the knowledge they gained from the collaboration. I’m sorry but ye is hellllla selfish to expect that he be the only one to benefit intellectually from the exchange.

Addidas had always been one my favorite brand to wear even as a kid. I do feel your argument is a little bias because if you look at Addidas catalogs they always make shoes that have these futuristic looks for example the crazy 8, the Kobes 2 that thing looks like a space ship and Tmac just ro name of few. Being in the marketing business myself I always feel like Kanye was made for Addidas and Addidas for Kanye. No brand would never let a designer misrepresents them. In that sense Kanye feels that he is bigger than Addidas ( and he has the right to feel that way) but Addidas will never let that happen. Ppl forgets that addidas is one of the few brands that let you design your shoes from scratch. They took the Yeezy's and made them less weird looking. Anyway, I don't know about what's in their contract. But usually, when companies acquire another company, the former takes the tech of the latter and apply them on their products. Take Geely taking Volvo tech and putting them on Geely cars for example. Kanye and Adidas is obviously not an Acquisition but a collaboration. But if there's something written in their contract that allows Adidas to take some of the design aspects of Kanye's Yeezy's to their own shoes, then they can do so.
