Thanks for watching. Know of any other hacks I should cover?
@BPlayReview3 жыл бұрын
honestly, i know a bit of the games got improved such as Castlevania 2 but not a complete overhaul such as ghostbusters and all. maybe you can cover more if not, all the bad NES games that got improved by hack or other sort of method which would be great watch and a surprise to all.

There's a hack for the Conan NES game which fixes the controls. The game becomes 100% better with it!

This is why game hackers deserve more respect They are not ruining the games they are improving them plus let’s be honest we all want to mess With the games ever since the game genie was released

right ! if only the cartridges had that extra 500kb space so they didn't have to cut corners or abandon certain game features... and now in the time of 4billion polygons rendered on screen.... its such a shame the mainstream producers wont do professional scale revisits to such classics.

Double Dragon 3 wasn't so hard to me back in the day and I beat it regularly, but it used to wear my brothers out all day lol.

My cousin and I put alot of hours in trying to beat Ghostbusters for the Master System. That version was WAY WAY WAY better than the NES. Aside from the awful controls and not really completely understanding what to do, we loved and I'd love to try that HACK

After putting ALOT of hours into Back To The Future I can assure you those levels are real. They are also very difficult. That last stretch of roads from the PROM to the Time Machine & Lighting Bolt is just ridiculous

I have an NES Advantage and it's the ONLY way I can play that game. I've beaten it a few times too. Of course even then it's only with luck.

You could do a video on games that are great but have some things that hold them back. The one that I've heard about and dabbled with was for the original Final Fantasy, filled with many many bug fixes, an new title screen, the ability to have longer names, etc. I think I also saw a similar hack for Zelda II. And I don't know if this would fit with the rest for a video like this but the original Super Mario Bros. simultaneous multiplayer hack where you both get to play at the same time. There's a lot of great stuff

7:58 - oh my dear.... if you had been a preschool child with this game lying around.... You'd be surprised how with dedication - a 6 year old could finish the game. But yes - being small back then, I lacked the concept of "beginning needs to be introductive, death is bad" vs "Ok... died 200 time... what if I...." I'd argue - it was crazy fun and heart-pounding to reach further and further.

Back in my childhood days, i could beat Double Dragon 3 on NES without any problems. I had tactics than i knew, and i knew, how to play that game in general. Sure, it wasn't right from the start, and i had my time to learn how to beat it, back then, but still. And now, when i'm grown man, i don't even remember how to play half of the NES or Mega Drive games. Sure, i still can beat games like Contra and Super C on NES, or Batman by Sunsoft on Mega Drive, but still. Many of other games, i don't want to even touch, like Contra Hard Corps for example, simply because, i don't remember how i could beat them.

The original game certainly hasn't aged well, at all - but when it was new (early days of NES) it was actually a fair amount of fun. Compared to a lot of the early linear NES games (run left to right), this game felt pretty cool in that you had this big level to explore, in any direction that you wanted to go. Of course it soon got eclipsed by plenty of other games that expanded upon that concept (Metroid, Blast Master for example) but before those games came out, this one was kinda fun - glitchiness and all.
@luvmenow333 жыл бұрын
I tell you, as a kid, I must have had the patience of a Saint to play Back to the Future enough to actually finish it, See that unbelievably disappointing ending, and never touch it again. As far as improvements, I don't really think there's much to be done. It's just a stupid , boring, game. All I can think to do is to add unlimited continues. Also when you die on one of the 4 special stages, you have to play the last street level again before getting another chance. That's gotta go too. Can really think of anything else.

I like to see Turbografx 16 rom hack games like Keith Courage with extra levels and different enemies and bosses and with parallax scrolling.I also like to see Takin'it to the Hoop with faster speed and different characters and make it like NBA Jam.
@leglockcontrol2 жыл бұрын
I acknowledge that DD3 for Nes is though, but as a kid I find the way to play it through cheesy techs involving moving up and down, luring enemies withing your hitbox range. I really like the game as it is minus the weapon system (which I use only for bosses). I don´t mind if a hack could balance Yagyu Ranzou, since other than being fast, is pretty much useless.

Double Dragon 3 was the first ever video game to use the godawful and often despised pay-to-win model. Mind you, this was before the internet. To buy moves, weapons, characters, and more, pop in more quarters into the machine. What was Technos thinking?
@igotmorepolo41843 жыл бұрын
For someone spending so much time with Nintendo games how come you suck at the challenge. Double dragon 3 is possible to beat as is and is worth the challenge it took. You have to walk up and down and use the double jump kick frequently, every single time they get around you spam that kick. You play lazily.

Maybe inside at the Pitfal game ( the original Nes version ) wanted to put Mario instead of another guy. You know; that studio reach to Nintendo and ask them if they can launch an a Pitfal game. It looked nice, but Nintendo wanted that the original character looked a little bit like a Mario instead of somoene else cooler instead. Nintendo always wants to put the MARIO character everywhere, elsewhere. Even inside on a Third Party future gamrs. It's nuts syndrome it's sickness.
@GregsGameRoom3 жыл бұрын
Activision probably just wanted the character to look like Mario on their own

Boy! That Super Pitfall Hack looks amazing! If he made it look that nice, & was somehow able to take away some of the cheap deaths and impossible moon logic parts of the game, he might actually make that dumpster fire fun to play. That would really be something! I REALLY love the ROM HACKING Community for keeping these old systems alive! Just in the last two months I've downloaded 4 ROM HACKS for one of my absolute favorite RPG's on the NES DESTINY OF AN EMPEROR. I've beaten the first 3 and they were outstanding! Parts of it were so well done as far as changing the story and the World Map that it felt like I was playing a completely different game! Actually THREE different games since DOAE is based on the three kingdoms Era in China and the original game follows the story of Shu & Liu Bei. But with so many characters and stories to work with they've made a ton of ROMS from that one game.

New Ghostusters is pretty, wish there was some tweaks to make it fun though. You can't fix BTTF with a mere hack, you have to start from scratch because it's diseased gameplay. ^_^ 10:24 You sound like a 2600 expert. 9_9 Some nice color palette changes in Shinobi, very Capcom like rather than Tengen's shades of vomit lol. I think the Super Pitfall hack is the best one, more in line with what you expected Harry's comeback game to be like then, like actual effort went into it.

I didn't think Double Dragon III was all that bad. Double Dragon II was awful with the controls that changed based on which direction you were facing. There's an improvement patch for that as well and makes it playable but it's still just ok. I don't remember music in Pitfall for tye Atari 2600 except for when you swing on a vine.

DD3 is far from being bad. Very difficult , yes, but game controls, sounds and looks very good, and it also forces you to approach enemies more strategically instead of just pummeling them (making the spin kick more useful)

Any hacker that puts their name into a game rom gets discarded as soon as i see it. I have no desire to display their names on my tv for the next 20 years. They do great work, don't get me wrong, but i will not use a hack if they gotta have their ego visible.
@aweirdredtoad36372 жыл бұрын
It really has nothing to do with ego, it's just to let players know who made the rom hack. It's very natural for anyone to do that, thinking of it like someone improving an old drawing and put their name on that to show the original person didn't do the updated work.
