Always great content. Honestly, minus the A-rig, I have those tied on basically year-round. Especially the shakey head and lipless crankbait. You can do so many different things with a lipless crankbait, shallow, or deep. The shakey just pulls them out when they are tight to cover.

Matt, any plans to put a fiber weed guard on your tactical under spin? I like that the owner flashy swimmer is weedless, but the bite gap is minimal. In addition, I'll be fishing from the shore and need weedless baits. Tks Guy

I decided to try the largo shad and I wasn’t impressed compared to a keitech. Idk if it is just the super realistic colors but they were more stiff so you had to fish them a lot faster to get them to kick.

Can you recommend weedless hooks for the micro rig? I tried it with open hooks, from the shore and it did not take me more than a couple of hours to loose it! Weedless hooks I know of are too big for 2.7 or 3.3 keitech!

I’m obsessed with jigs. Never throw t rigs anymore because just like you said, it gets the big bite. Not as many bites but much bigger
@live2fishofficial9 ай бұрын
No tubes? I understand not every area of the country may not be familiar with the presentation, but just look at any underwater footage of a craw swimming in a defensive pattern and you’ll see the falling tube on a tube jig imitates this perfectly! If you haven’t tried it yet - you should.

They’ve got to pick FIVE baits out of the eternity of bass fishing baits. I think we can give them a pass for not talking about the chunky boring tube
@chadmichael26409 ай бұрын
I ALWAYS keep a tube handy since it’s so versatile and can be fished fast or slow. That said, I think the focus for this video was 5 best just for this time of year. Maybe considering that a tube is great ALL year they decided to focus on more specific spring techniques? Just guessing.

We’re on the west side, with water in the 40’s up until this week we’ve been fishing blade baits deep on weed edges. They just started hitting chatter bait, here’s a video from last weekend kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ2bepSjop6KbtEsi=xxmvtAbpVv8eMQjM tight lines buddy!

I just can’t get bit fishing a jig on the bottom. I’ve tried finesse jigs, football jigs, ball head jigs, and mostly casting or flipping style jigs because they make the most sense for the places I fish. I’ve tried hopping, dragging, dead sticking, you name it. Now, swim jigs and bladed jigs are a different story, I catch tons of fish on them. Do there have to be craws in the body of water for a bottom contact jig to work? I throw colors that closely imitate bluegill in high percentage areas around cover where I know for a fact there are bass but it doesn’t work. I can pick up a Ned rig or a shaky head or weightless Senko and catch several in the same places I’m fishing the jig. It’s really frustrating! What am I doing wrong??
@MrWhiteboy5739 ай бұрын
Honestly it took me awhile of going out fishing and only using a jig before I started catching em and actually having confidence with a jig.
@CorbinTheSportsman9 ай бұрын
I mainly fish jigs around docks and rock banks/ rock piles. I kept one tied on for over a year before I realized I wasn’t dragging them slow enough on the bottom. Also giving it a couple pops every cast will help.

Hey Matt, do you think the Buzbe Fast Flatz Bait Bag Half Extra Large would work for storing double blades buzz baits?
@tacticalbassin9 ай бұрын
You know, I haven't tried. How many baits are we talking? I think I'd just grab a Quik Qube instead so you're not squishing them in the flat bag. If moisture isn't an issue, the Quik Qube Breeze will save you some $$$ as well. Here's the breeze: bit.ly/43ILiTG

My lake doesn’t go full pool till the middle of April and I’m on the bank so I’m screwed till then. I prefer the spinner bait because all I do is lose chatter baits.
@MaineStreamFishing9 ай бұрын
Try the crosseyes or the slobber knocker… i have thrown that thing into places and gave up on it and it came out. A lot better from the bank than the zman alternatives. It doesn’t roll as much so your hook is safer. Talking about that Slobber knocker

Are the Keitechs going away, being replaced by the swammers? Why the move away?
@tacticalbassin9 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say replaced but we definitely use Swammers more often. As more anglers have continued to use keitechs, fish naturally adapt. The Swammer has a very unique action, similar to Hollow belly swimbaits, but with a solid body. Fish are responding to it very well. 👍🏼

So I just got a mini A-rig ( the smallest bladed one), how do you guys set up your mini rigs? I want to set it up correctly to get the best chance to get my first A-rig fish. The longest arm appears to be up top, do I leave it straight back or is it bent up a bit? Also what about the other bait arms and the “dummy” arms?
@richardbossman98759 ай бұрын
Also, I am surprised that you have never mentioned the Mann’s one minus crankbait, it has a super wide wobble and does not get below a foot. Change the hardware and it is good to go.
@Cornelius7989 ай бұрын
@richardbossman9875 Yep, I still throw the 1 minus.
@richardbossman98759 ай бұрын
So I went ahead and set it up almost like my normal A-rigs, looking at it from the front the long top wire I almost straight back, the two dummy lure wires are up at about a 45 degree angle and away from each other by the same angle. The two bottom wires with hooked swimbaits have the same setup but downwards. Looking head on the dummy lures and hooked ones form a square with the head and trailing long wire with a hooked swimbait is directly behind the head. I found this gave a good presentation and the swimbaits is good movement when twitched aggressively. Hope this helps if anyone had the same question.
