As Mel mentioned, hyaluronic acid works by retaining moisture. But what it should be also added to this information is that, hyaluronic acid serum for example, should ALWAYS be applied to damp skin. You can spray some thermal water on your face before or after the serum. This way you won't have this drying feeling anymore.
@AnetteL.Nielsen4 жыл бұрын
And what if you use a moisturizer with it in? 😊 Should the skin get damp after the serum?

This might be a "duh" but everyday when I do my eyebrows, after I have filled them in, I tweeze. I feel like most people wait till they are crazy to deal with them but why? You can consistently maintain them without ever needing to do a big job or a waxing if you just grab the few hairs growing out every day. (Granted my hairs are light so I dont have a bunch of dark peach fuzz that NEEDS waxing but still)

I used to wear strip lashes every day for years. To prevent pulling out lashes upon removal, I never just pulled the strips off my lid. I use a q-tip soaked in an oil free eye make up remover (Neutrogena makes one) and rub it along the lash band and after 30 seconds or so the falsies slide right off without pulling your natural lashes out. The bonus is that it loosens the glue on the lash band so you can peel it off easier and reuse the lashes. 😍

I already do a lot of these because of you! Thank you! Lately I've been wanting a more luminous powder but don't want to go to the store so I take a normal banana or translucent loose powder in my cap and dust a little loose highlighter with it and just dust it all over. You can figure out your own measurements. 💓 Also when I receive really dark samples of concealer/foundation, instead of tossing it I use it as cream contour. Also when I do my lip scrub I take a cheap soft toothbrush and use that to help me exfoliate my lips. Put your masks in the fridge. Sorry i could go on. 😄

So Good that you talked about HA because it's like it has become the new big thing, but not many is aware of the things you mentioned also, if HA is good for you or not also depends on where you live, because I you live in a very dry climate, dessert like it will also work in reverse and actually pull moisture from your skin into the air, so if you live in a very dry place it will be good to replace the HA with squalene

I am anti HA because I live in a climate that is dry most of the year. I apply my powder with my sponge and that has changed the game for me. Especially under my eyes and oily spots. No matter what powder and brush I use, it looks cakey and unnatural on me. I also apply my highlight with my sponge. It just looks so soft and diffused imo. My everyday your lips but better hack is to use a lip liner that is just like one shade darker. (My favorite is Lime Crime "taupest") I over line where I need to, contour, blend it out a bit and top with chapstick or aquaphor. Makes my lips look like my lips but actually better, is way more comfortable than lipstick and using a good balm keeps things hydrated.

Always love to hear you tips & tricks with makeup. Your makeup always looks so flawless and perfect every time and it shows you know what your doing. Thank you for always giving us great info. ❤️🥰😍💋 I also get oily in my tzone and anytime I want my makeup to stay in place and look perfect and not break apart I use either the Tatcha silk canvas, the Makeup Revolution putty primer or the Elf Matte putty primer. For powder my ride or die will always be the Chanel poudre libre. I’m so annoyingly sad that they changed to formula so I’m buying every original one I can find. 😍

Hi Mel, does this mean that you should avoid HA in foundation and powder? Eg is the By Terry HA tinted powder going to be drying if it's the last thing you put on your face? Ty x
@yensid42944 жыл бұрын
I hate spraying directly onto my face any setting or finishing spray because I always get it in my hair & on my shirt so I started spraying a damp sponge & pouncing it into my skin. It works great & helps to eliminate any cakiness or powdery look. A great way to set undereye concealer without using powder too.

My makeup tricks are 1)tuck my lash curler into my bra when I start the makeup process by the time I am ready to curl my lashes the curler has warmed up and does a much nicer curl that lasts 2)to remove glitter eyeshadow without having it all over the place I take scotch tape and gently press it on the eyeshadow and it will lift it up, repeat a few times and it is like you never had any on, so much easier to then clean your face

Also hyaluronic acid is better to use during summer time because of the heat & moisture in the air. It’s drying to use in the winter when ur skin is already dry. I found that out the hard way. For lashes I love using babe lash serum on my eyelashes I now have long lashes that are also getting thicker.
@lubazak6364 жыл бұрын
I am still using Larissa. It really works and is not that expensive when you get as much as 5 ml in the bottle. Also, they give you a lot of brushes and tell you to use one for each eye. This is wasteful. I just use one brush, put one drop in the cap and use it one both eyelash base and there is enough to do both your brows. You get a lot less with Neulash. Also, all the eye color side effects with Latisse was when that drug was used inside the eye, with internal drops in the eyeball. The active ingredient was used, initially, in the eyeball several times a day, for glaucoma and then they noticed those patients had fantastic lashes. For lash growth, one drop is enough. Thanks for the sponge tip for setting spray !! Love the tip you gave, before, for tightlining upper lash line and lining the upper lash line with black eyeshadow. It’s perfect for my hooded eyes.

I stopped using hyaluronic acid serum a few weeks ago, when I saw Dr. Shereen Idreis (sp?), taking about how it can dry out your skin, especially if it's in more than one product that you use. Could never figure out how to properly put on false lashes. I used Latisse for 2 years, and the results were ok, but once I stopped, bye bye lashes. It was irritating besides the fact. I just started Grande Lash, and it's also irritating. Neu Lash will be my next attempt. Love your buffing trick! Definitely will be trying it out tomorrow. Stay well, sweet Mel. 💓❤😘

I agree with the mist, I remist with my BB after each powder I use, which I don't use a lot. But even when I'm done I'll take a setting spray and spray a clean BB and pounce all over the face. I don't have brows or lashes, so I do my brows last which look so real I've never been questioned, lashes I do my makeup with no lashes, it closes my eyes a bit so I angle everything a bit more upwards like a fox. I would love to explain it. But I don't want to bore anyone. If anyone wants to know then I'd be glad to elaborate. Thanks Mel 💖💞💕💓💗😷

One of my BIGGEST pet peeves is, I have 2 influencers who I love watching. But they always and forever have lash glue all in their lashes🤔😒🤢 it really grosses me out and I honestly just want to go hold their faces down and scrub/pick it out 🤷🏽♀️🤭. I just think it looks dirty & unprofessional. Like I know it takes time and effort but also that's not good to keep it in and add on top of it!? Lead by example right 🤷🏽♀️. On that note though...🤔 do you have any tips for that cause I feel like it always is so time consuming and painful sometimes 🙄. Also when you put the spray on your blender does it have to be wet already or can you just apply it to a dry sponge?? Thanks for another amazing & informative tutorial! Blessings and LOVE

Trying to finish it now lol Yes, the blender should already be damp ❤️ otherwise it will soak up too much of the spray ❤️ I usually do an oil cleanse first, then take a q-tip and Lancôme bifacil and roll the qtip on spots left behind... and then go wash my face with my regular face wash ❤️

Unfortunately I had a bad allergic reaction to Neulash so I can’t use it. I have pretty long natural lashes anyway. I never wear falsies because I don’t need them. One time I accidentally hacked some of my lashes off with an eyebrow trimmer is why I got the Neulash. I had a total meltdown over that lol. I do take a hair, skin and nails supplement and I can see a difference in my lashes. They’re a lot thicker and longer. Of course you want to check with your doctor before taking any supplement 😊.

I am willing to bet that many of the hyped up hyaluronic acid products actually do not contain enough HA to make much difference anyway. It is often way down in the ingredient deck.
