Thank you! Rarely do I do pure philosophy. I've found the algorithm punishes me for venturing outside my core competency. There are a few episodes though. In particular I would point to the two appearances of David Burke on the podcast. He's a PhD candidate in Metal Studies and a brilliant philosopher. I also thought my interview with Profiler went a bit outside the music. I've asked way to many guests if they believe in free will or not. I still think I get the most interesting answers on that one but I realized I was asking every guest so I'm trying to space that one out.

OMEGA SWARM is a new one on me. Thanks for that one. COBRA THE IMPALER is already on my BOTM list for May, and youre the only critic thats noticed it, so a second set of horns to you, sir. My favorite upcoming album cover art so far for next week is a tie between GURT and DISLMN, but GURT made me laugh out loud. Oddball faves of this week for me have been GOD MOTHER, DUSK, HOPE CONSPIRACY, ARSTIDIR LIFSINS, FOUR STROKE BARON, DEKADENT, ENVIG, HEKSEGRAV, LAETITIA IN HOLOCAUST, SAIDAN, HUMAN CONDITION, AURO CONTROL, HAUNTED PLASMA and COBRA THE IMPALER. Too damn much.

The new Black Sabbath box set is all I needed this week. I purchased the CD versions and they sound incredible. Well worth picking up and it's great that the Tony Martin era has a chance to shine!🤘

Agreed! First wave and its modern retreads are largely unlistenable, with the occasional excptions, like SAIDAN & BAAZLVAAT. Last week had some good blakmetl evolution from DARK AFFLICTION, DUSK, DEKADENT, and especially ARSTIDIR LIFSINS.

Hell yeah sir Jon! Always my favorite weekend video! Also, had an idea: I'm a father of 5 kids, but also a metal head. I feel like metal is a part of my life, but so is being a good dad, so I try to incorporate both. And honestly, if one of my kids like a metal song, I feel emotional like I'm passing the torch 😂, but do other people do that with other genres? Would make for cool content. it's the least-metal opinion i reckon you could have but there's something about mr barbas that just makes me happy. if you consume anything mainstream, we're meant to be gloomy old sods, possibly in crushed velvet and corpse paint but all i get from this channel is joy and awesome new recommendations.
