I have concluded after researching, reading about and owning several inkjet printers, there is no 'Best' printer available. The best you can hope for is finding the one that sucks the least.

I always had HP and used them in my business for over 20 years with very few problems. I retired and wanted a smaller printer, redoing the office and want to get rid of one desk so needed an compact printer. I bought an Epson and from the day I hooked it up I hated it. I just bought the Desk Jet 4255e today and hope it will last a few years. I, of course, don't print a lot these days and then I never noticed it can also fax so hey, who faxes anymore, but you never know, but not sure I'll even bother with that part. The ink is not bad. I was expecting to pay over 100.00 for the black and color pack and it was like just over 50.00 and it will last ME a long time. I am NOT hooking up to the automatic replacement feature. I have enough tech stuff spying on me, I can buy my own ink.

The hp all-in-one printer is ok, as long as you don't get the mail in cartridges, because for some reason you don't pay, your printer won't work right.

The only thing worrying me about the Epsom ink tank printers is the 'ink pad replacement', are they easy to replace without a third party reset code that has to be paid for or a free one time code for 80% fill only?

My HP printers seem to have gotten bigger and bigger over the years but do the same thing. My latest confuses the hell out of me. I don't print that often so forget what the symbols mean. I have to use the manual every single time. So annoying.

Its clear you didn't do enough research. Pros always wrriten by manufacturers, Your job is to find real Cons and show to people and decide. Epson EcoTank printers have couple of serious issues. ink jamming and behind the printer ink absorbing sponge.

My old printer was a Canon PIXMA MX340 I had that printer for years and I can imagine how much I spent on INK for it $55 a pop it was easy to set up. I got the EPSON ECOTANK ET-2400 that was a pain in my rear end for the time I sat at my desktop trying to get it to work> I am sending it back to AMAZON today is WEDNESDAT so on THURSDAY I will send it back and AMAZON sent the printer to me in the printer box wow AMAZON is cheap. I am going to Best Buy and get one AMAZON is going to lose a good Customer me and my Wife.

I wont buy HP printers again; they are cheap up front but cost 10 times more in inks. . They sell printers below cost because they make up for it in ink sales.. also don't try using other inks or cartridges because HP hardware and firmware is deliberately designed to detect it and cause errors, print head damage, even rendering the scanners inoperable! Pay more up front and buy Canon Mega tanks or Epson Eco tanks. Their only issues are multiple page feeds and needing to replace and reset the waste tanks or pads. JUST SAY NO TO HP

I signed up for instant ink and when I canceled my subscription, they disabled my printer. The printer only uses HP cartridges. The printer is now back in the box.

I will never own another HP printer. Their MAC support has been horrible. There drivers quit functioning and make the printer dead before it’s time. Their Windows support is slightly better. The Windows drivers were kept updated for about 3 more years on the average. Same expensive Office printer dead on the MAC and functional on Windows. My MAC friends have had the same experience. Epson updates and support is much better on both platforms.

The ET-16650 (not the lesser et-16600) is the best you as a garage business can do. This thing has 4x the amount of nozzles than the old wf-7610 or even the et-15000(and 16600) has. It is the exact same printer as a wf-7840, but has a built in CISS with FAT TUBES!!! Firstly, a 7840 cannot use a ciss because the printer will not support auto reset chips, requiring you to pull ink carts to replace the 1time use chips and introduce air... second, the tubes on a 3rd part CISS are way too thin. Not sure who the genius was that designed a ciss for the old 7610 or even the european 7840dtwf, but it is a terrible design and the carts are just garbage. (Should have designed dampers. Not carts.) As for the 16650, it is great quality, no fuss. The only issue with home printers is when paper curls. If you print a 13x19 page, chances are you will get corner smudges (print head rubs onto the paper). If you're doing 13x19, do not use 13x19 sheets. Use a 24 inch roll, cut it to 13 x 24 and print on it as it is, THEN cut the extra paper off after printing. I will never use 13x19 sheets ever again, only 24 inch rolls as I described.
