I think now were used to the V6 Turbo Hybrid's sound i think it is pretty damn good. Especially when decelerating with the turbo whistling away and the pauses in the whistling from the downshifting. Yes they arent the operatic V10s or the tenor like V8s but they do still sound good IMO even if i do obviously prefer the sound i grew up with, the V10s and V8s.

I guess none of you heard the Matra V12 from the 60s/70s. It sounded like nothing on earth and unfortunately no recordings exist of it at full revs in its heyday. The preserved cars are not revved to max so the sound is not comparable. The Matra would drown out every other car in the field. Nearest sound you can get to it in modern recording is actually the rotatory Mazda 786 at Le Mans but Matra was higher pitched.
