In Virginia the eastern side sucks for trout witch is were I live sadly theres only a few stockes trout ponds the western mountain side is great

If it wasn't for acid rain that hurt Adirondack rivers and lakes, NY would be hands down the best trout fishing state in the country. Hopefully the Green movement will limit that pollution and trout make a big comeback in NY. Not complaining at all, it's still top 5 .It's irritating to the country boys that NY has better fishing than theirs.

Pa literally sells hot dogs and cotton candy at the stream 1st of trout season. Dudes follow stocking trucks around to see where they go in, they are at that spot with their time watches set and as soon as it is 8, WHAMMY! Fish lines start flying! It's hysterical!

The East has a lot more lakes/rivers than the West. Pennsylvania is on Lake Erie . Need water !!! You might have a great river/ lake , but in terms of quantity , the East has more Trout and Salmon because it has more water.
