Hello there and friendly greetings! I've seen "The Bombardment" and "All is quite on the Western Front" and they both were so good that left me a catch in my thorat. One one hand I really love war movies, on the other hand they make me feel really bad on a deep level. Unlike horror movie when I know that everything is just fiction, war movie very often depict something that happened. Depict real horror that real people had to suffer and died for. Some memeber of my family survived the IIWW and some friends of mine went thru the II Gulf War. I ony heard tales from them but that's enough to instill a visceral fear of war. Anyway... I have some movie war to suggest even if I know some are really not for the fainted heart. - 1917 (2019, great direction, really must see IMAO) - Come And See (1985, very very hard to watch) - The Painted Bird (2019, another harsh film to watch) - Anthropoid (2016) - Bankier van het verzet (2018, I have not found the english version) - El fotógrafo de Mauthausen (2018) - Krasnyy prizrak / The Red Ghost (2020, I don't know if it is history or something more like SISU but it is entertaining as hell!) - SISU (2022, ok this is no historical movie at all, despite the setting. It's nearly splatter, sometimes absurd but some masterpiece of a gruesome and unapologetic action movie! Warmly recomended!) I hope you will find something interesting! Have a great day!

No its Dutch@@Yustis German is what they speak in Germany. Zeeland is Dutch and not German. They don´t have Zeeland in German, but what the guy in the video meant to say was that those guys fought against German army in an German occupied area. Which it was.

honestly number 3 is just a joke. I come from Zeeland and i HATE the movie because its a movie "about" the battle of the Schelde and the movie was so called historically accurate but its a joke. For the people that dont know, the battle of the Schelde was a battle fought over the control of the islands of Walcheren and Zuid Beverland. the river was/is the only route for big ships to the port of Antwerpen. because of this hitler had declared walcheren to be a fortress. I wont tell the whole story here but in short: that movie is only about one tiny part of the battle, the battle of the sloedam as we call it locally. This battle was not even won by a direct assault but by the canadians, after gotten there asses kicked, going around the dam and preforming 3 landings, one at westkapelle, one near the sloedam and the hardest one in vlissingen at uncle beach. The battle of the Schelde is mainly marked by the fighting in vlissingen and how heavily mind and defended the area was. Keep in mind that it took the allies 8 days to win with 12.873 KIA, WIA or MIA, with 6.367 being Canadians. In the movie it looks like it is just this one dam that stops the allies from sailing in to antwerpen and when some Canadians with this one dutch para takes it its all over. Also, why is there a dutch soldier in the 6th para's who ditches his para uniform (what would be a no go for real paras in that time) to take a normal infantrymen kit. Wouldn't he be in well i dont know maybe No 2 (Dutch) Troop that actually did take part in the operation called Infatuate I but not at the sloedam but in Vlissingen. Honestly i am happy most people in Zeeland boycotted this dumb movie, i even see it as a offense to the history and memory of this battle. And before people go on with "you did not watch the movie", yes I did sadly and even my grandparents (who were there!) found it lacking and "a damn shame that it is made this bad only because this battle gave the allies a bloody nose"

Hate to disagree but All Quiet on the Western Front was a HUGE letdown, from both the book and the two earlier Versions. The special effects were awesome and acting was decent, but the story line was completely off.
