As another guy with big mitts, I love my Boker Plus Roundhouse. That M4 Sherman Damascus is definitely on my grail knife list. I'd probably choose the Boker Bronco for a hard use mid-sized knife, just because that really expensive one I might not want to use as hard. The Tracker is the obvious answer to big chopper to smash around with. The one thing you left out was the wide variety of tiny fixed blades that Boker has, many of them still fine for people with large hands: like the Pry Pro, Nessmi Mini, Mikri, and AK1.

With all of the $50 D2 flippers out there, I am surprised that there are 2 examples in this video that are almost $100 for a D2 bladed knife. Personally, I would not pay that much for D2 when I could get a 3.11" blade of S35VN for $70...

@jimbook3663 probably true. As do european stores when it comes to American knives. Surprisingly... there's nothing as cheap as what you guys pay in WMK, BladeHQ etc, etc. Everything is 25% more expensive in the reputable EU stores. Even Chinese brands cost more. If I buy directly from China, Customs might stop the order and confiscate the knife.

After the size and design of a knife grabs my attention, the next thing that l ask for in a pocket folder is a deep carry pocket clip. (Even before steel type) If the knife doesn't have a deep carry clip (as in many Spydercos) then the availability of secondary market clips must be available (as in Lynch northwest). A good example of my thinking is the Spyderco Para 3, or the Emerson CQC 7, both capable of replacing the factory clips with something from Lynch.

An interesting thought, especially when reading Larrin Thomas's new book. For generations, people have regarded German steel as some of the best, but it seems as though they're not too invested in keeping up with modern blade alloys. You can still find German-made x50CrMov15 in plentiful kitchen knives, but that's about it. Boker uses a lot from Böhler-Uddeholm which is Austrian. There is a facility from them in Germany, but it doesn't look like M390 or N690 is produced there. I do have a Viper Orso 2 made with German-made QPM 20-4 (Lohmann's M390 alloy) but they're not large enough to supply steel for many large-scale producers. It's probably the case that a lot of European countries have pride in manufacturing in EU countries rather than a singular source, like when us 'muricans look for "Made in USA" but maybe I'm wrong there.

As a prolific customer.. Here are a couple things for knife designers and companies to think about.. 1. If you put a hole in the blade..I WON'T BUY IT! 1.5. Skip the half tang, cable tang etc. Don't try to talk me into it. It's a no-go. 2. I won't purchase your weird blade designs.. Tried and true "old" designs are NOT boring. They are functional and that is the reason i buy a knife. 3. I don't purchase blades under 3in. 3.5. I won't sacrifice strong built knife engineering for decreased weight. I'm not so weak i can't or won't carry an "over-built" knife. Ex. Leave the liners in your folders.. 4. Over use of the term.. "tactical". Think about it.. 5. EDC does NOT automatically mean small/er.. 6. I don't agree with the "trend" of thinner and thinner blade stock to make the knife "slicey ". It is a cheap design. Blade grind and shape can make a thick stock blade "slicey". If you disagree, consider the Japanese katana. Very slicey. NOT thin blade stock. So, in general, i don't purchase thin stock blades.. 7. All knives including multifunction tools do NOT need pocket clips. 8. I will NOT sacrifice edge holding capability for easy sharpening. They have a thing now called a diamond sharpener.. 9.i own hundreds of knives and have given away more and better than what i have, so i am not inexperienced. 10. Some companies are very reluctant to incorporate newer, and super steel into their lineup..you know who you are. If the steel is better, i buy it. I will save up my money to get quality steel. 11. Bonus point: I have no use for, and will never own a "scandi-grind" blade. Ever. My dad once told me, "son, always buy the best quality tools you can possibly afford.." i have lived by this rule all my life. It served me well, and I have never regretted it. This translates into my knife purchases as well because a knife is a tool. Maybe the first one ever created.
