I love my black widow!!! Your description of the black widow was PERFECT!!! They aren’t the strongest balls, but they’re more than strong enough. Like you said, they’re so versatile. I have the 2.0 (x2), the 2.0 hybrid(x2) and the 3.0. Not counting my urethane balls, I only have black widows. I can play straight~ish with them, as well open up my angles with them. They have such a unique shape, and they accept surface really good. I’ve taken my 2.0 hybrid and my 3.0 down to 500, while taking my 2.0 hybrid up to 2,000. I like the fact that I can experiment with their surfaces, while continuing to get the same black widow shape. The only ball that I may throw over my black widow is my effect tour, once I get it drilled.

@zvl bowling , in you opinion what is the best way to progress in your arsenal , say you start in strong smooth ball and start leaving flat corners , would you go to your strong sharp or medium smooth ? Thanks for all the great content !

Being new to bowling this year, and this being my first winter understanding more about the game, are there particular types of balls that perform better in the colder months than others? I've noticed that our alley is putting down less oil during the last few league nights. I am wondering if that's kind of normal this time of year for central Wisconsin. I've definitely seen a change in habits from my arsenal already. Any advice is appreciated.

Both good balls, but the Sure Lock is my all time favorite, wish I had stashed a few.

Ha, by #2 I thought you were going to say the Pure Envy was #1 and it didn't even make the list. It's similar to the Ion Max but just better.

I honestly don't think the 3.0 needs to be that high. I'd have moved it down to 4th and moved the max and criterion up a notch.

Yeah, #1 slot in an arsenal is typically a strong asym.
