Helan Vetiver and Rum is a hidden gem. Been wearing it for years. I don't find it overly formal but extremely versatile.

SUPER glad you got to score the Penhaligons too! I'm hoping but fairly confident you'll enjoy it! Deserves the hype for sure. Fresh enough for this hot weather but think it shines in fall and winter. The bee wax in it goes well with autumn. Looking forward to hearing your reaction to both!

I own vetiver bourbon and 1920 the origin. Love them both, but that grapefruit in the origin is beautiful. Great list.

No doubt! Think you'd appreciate that one for sure! Keep an eye out as I'm sure its one that can be scored cheaper in some outlets just has been a bit more rare as of late. Used to be some on eBay for around $35 or less but hard to get them shipped outside of Italy with exorbitant shipping at the moment. Definitely something I think would be in Dan/Mr. Smelly's wheelhouse though!

Love the EDP, how prominent is the cinnamon in this one? It’s the only note I’m sometimes not keen on.

i was kinda half paying attention, going over recipes, watching your vid. you know how you do. and as you started describing the helan, i looked up and thought, “sounds like he’s describing vetiver & rum.” 😅 that’s such a great scent. loved it since the early aughts. caswell-massey used to carry it in their catalog back then. jeez. catalog. i sound like such a dinosaur LOL anyway, always enjoy watching your vids, brother. best wishes from louisiana. 🙏

Definitely! I can see both of those profiles being polarizing as they lean a bit in the dated old school direction! Both two of my favorite notes personally!
