I appreciate these videos, im new to dirtbiking but i've spent a lotvof time mt biking and the way we hit jumps on bicycles is a lot different than moto's because we basically setup like we are bunny hopping off the lip. Thanks for the tips
@chucknoob70415 жыл бұрын
illmindjunglist - I transitioned to MT biking and I was having a horrible time because I kept leaning over the front wheel like he shows here. The MT bike kept kicking off to one side, scary. Finally tried leaning back to take the weight off the front wheel and....presto jumping again.

We teach our riders (especially new ones) to use your right hand pointer finger as a marker for smooth acceleration delivery. Meaning pointer finger remains rested on the brake while on the accelerator at all times. This removes that hunting characteristics of the motorcycles because of a choppy hand. It also does miracles when trail braking into the corner whilst remaining at 10% overrev to allow smooth and linear transition through corners instead of being squared off through corner from brutal braking down to no RPMS followed by hard cracking on of accelerator. All of which is waisted traction through tyre spin. Most of our riders have removed seconds from their lap times doing just this at first before focusing on big jumps and how to land them. One needs to be quicker in understanding the science and physics behind a rolling bike before attempting such things!

I’ve got a 2017 sx 250’also. Do you find your throttle really stiff as-well? If so I’d there anyway to fix it?
@michael589m6 жыл бұрын
Nice vid you guys are the best out there. I really like when you guys demonstrate drills to practice. Just burning lap after lap on practice days can be pretty counterproductive. How about some tips on jumping when decelerating. For example, small double at the bottom of a downhill or a fast straight with a double landing into a tight corner. I notice A riders begin to brake for the corner on the face of the jump while us C class guys need the throttle to get over it, therefore we can't carry nearly as much speed.
@TheMxFactory6 жыл бұрын
Great recommendation for a video, thanks for that. And we agree, more focused practice drills versus lap after lap can def make you better quicker.

So when you come up short try land front tire the when you over jump use your back tire more?
@TheMxFactory6 жыл бұрын
Yes, kinda. The drills we have you do landing each tire first are so you can get used to things like that, in case you have an issue in the air. At some point, you’ll land front tire first not on purpose. Then another time you’ll likely land rear first. The point is to try them all in practice so when an issue in the air comes up you are prepared and ready for it. Make sense? It also depends on the speed you hit the jump, the height, the dirt, the jump itself, so practicing while landing differently is very helpful.

Depends on the corner, you just shift down to a gear where you’re not bogging the bike or over revving it, generally 2nd gear.

The Mx Factory Just found out today that the vortex ecu I purchased from ktmandhusky was programmed for ktm450sx-f instead of the 450excf an the ex-f box doesn't turn fan on. Instead of exchanging for right ecu they suggested I rig a fan switch so I can manually turn it on. What's your opinion?

Great channel love your how toos. My boy only started riding a couple of months ago. In the UK. A lot of our practice tracks Mix novice with intermediate which imo is mx suicide. and should be outlawed. We need you to set up a training school over here and show these private run mx track owners how to do things right the safeway. It is bull shit cause there ain't many tracks over here near me . And the ones you do find are run by pricks that just think money not safety. Keep up the good work and Look forward to your UK business opening soon lol. We can all dream. Btw if any one can recommend a gd novice track for beginners in essex .uk please leave a reply. And please don't mention milk run been there owner is an arsehole.
