can any of them be used for road cycling? i just broke some teeth out and broke an eye socket after my bike slid out from under me. had a regular giro helmet (now cracked)

isaachaze1 You certainly could use them; if you didn't care about how you looked, about getting funny looks, what people though etc... oh, and you're head may actually get so hot it spontaneously combusts on a long climb. But there's no other reason you couldn't if you're worried about crashing. Just remember to wear your glasses on the outside of the straps/helmet so it looks like you know what you're doing (cycling in-joke).

+isaachaze1 Ah, i love responding to comments as soon as they are posted. A good thing to look for would be the MET parachute. New version is basically as light and breathable as you can get with a certified full face. Old version is basically a standard helmet with a removable chin guard, so its not certified as a full face, however that same feature could come in useful once the fashion police come looking for you.

Hey BikeRadar do you think the new bell super offers the same protection as an actual enduro helmet that doesnt clip together like the super?

Ian Blair Well it has to conform to relevant safety standards so it's not going to be unsafe per se, but without testing it you'd probably be right to assume a removable chin bar won't be as safe as a fixed one. It's hard to say for the actual head-covering part though - it will surpass standards but how safe is hard to define without some seriously high tech testing.

No. You need a helment that is specified to the type of riding you are doing. Get a road helmet.

Any good but cheap full face helmet...i don't do mountain bike properly or downhill or anything but i like it more then other helmets and think they look a lot nicer. I wouldn't want to get one more than £6o ish maybe a tiny bit more -thanks :) Also i am thinking of getting an new mtb i'm not sure if i do want to go full suspension but i don't think it will be worth the money, any new bikes coming out for 2017/18 under £1000 preferably less more 600-800 but any good make i should go for? I am thinking GT but a lot of my friends have cube and carrera - i have a Saracen myself.

Thanks alot I would apprentice the advice...I was thinking off a bag but I dont think its really worth because I dont do it properlly anyway, I am thinking of getting a new hardtail next year for xmas as mine is only a year old so if you spot any good future models under 1k that would be great.....ill try and look out for any good deals or whatever and keep you updated ;)

Robin Hocke Please dont get offended by this, buuuuut the thumbnail for the vid has a full face helmet on it. Also some people and some pros use light full face helmets when riding enduro for extra protection.
