Here are 5 ETFs investors are buying now: VTI (Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF), SCHG (Schwab US Large Cap Growth ETF), VGT (Vanguard Information Technology ETF), QQQM (Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF), and VYM (Vanguard High Dividend Yield ETF). Paul Gabrail breaks down each one in the video above and determines if any of them are better buys than an S&P 500 index fund like VOO or SPY.

I question whether people still profit from all this investment BS in light of the collapsing global markets, skyrocketing inflation, the Fed enforcing significant interest rate hikes, the Treasury yields rising quickly, market manipulations, and many other problems.

I sort of disagree with you. Perform your own research. If one followed the proper procedures and made the appropriate predictions, they could quickly make a sizable profit from the market. Despite my inexperience and lack of understanding, my net earnings have increased by more than +468% in just a few months.

Hi there, Kdavids For a novice, your profit margin is really decent. Do you use spreadsheets as a tool?

Spreadsheets are an extremely time-consuming, uncomfortable, and irrelevant idea that I have never understood. I enjoy that my investing account is identical to Kevin Mikan's since it is fully transparent and automatic, allowing me to avoid being involved in every trading session. Feel free to give it a try. There are commissions, though.

I've always found the idea of using spreadsheets to be very time-consuming, unpleasant, and irrelevant. My investment account is similar to Kevin Mikan's, and I like it that way because it's automatic and highly transparent, meaning I don't have to be involved in every trading session. You are welcome to test it. However, there are commissions.

I am a single mom, I've been thinking about investing going into 2024. I'm starting a business and am about to be financially stable enough to start putting money into the market. My biggest question before I get started is: How do I know if the stock market is too high right now so should I wait for a downturn before investing? Or what type of stocks (ETF, Index Funds, Penny Stocks, High Yield Dividends) should I buy at different turns in the market?

Its unclear which stocks and sectors will lead the market in the next uptrend. It is advisable to diversify while retaining 70-80% in secure investments. looking at your budget, you should consider financial advisory.

A big thing would be to determine your goals. Dollar cost averaging (Putting in money into an account every pay period or month) into SPY or other low cost ETFs would be your best bet to start. The reason to dollar cost average is because no one can time the market. Its best to just continually invest in it over long periods of time. Then once you are more comfortable and understand stocks more you can go from there.

I'm thinking to put some cash in stocks, I was at Salt Shack and i overheard some friends saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert

True, A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Owning SCHD for income might not be the best strategy but I think it is a good strategy for diversification in your portfolio along with other more aggressive growth type ETFs. It’s smart to have at least one fund that is value-heavy and doesn’t have the mag 7 as the top 5 holdings. With dividends reinvested SCHD has averaged almost 13 percent since 2012… that’s about a point behind VOO.

Hey! Been watching for about a year now and still love the content. I was wondering why you guys don't like spacs and avoid them at all cost? I'm heavily invested in one that is called Enovix. Love the product and the management but I'm sure that you guys would steer clear. Kind of hoping to hear your 2 cents on it. It probably won't change my position in the stock but it could help me tamper expectations or think of things differently. Again, much love from Montreal keep up the good work!

SPACS are very risky since you don't have any information regarding the company could be a success or a failiure...no evidence of how can perform. Also to note that most SPACS need to payback all investors before clocking any profits. Feel free to join our community and discuss it with our members - GC

Very amateuristic to plot total return series vs a price change series. Dividend and reinvested dividends are having a huge impact over a 20yr+ horizon

I use SCHG, XLK, and SMH. Balanced with FXAIX in my employer-sponsored account. I supplement with strong mid-caps stocks. Wish the channel would cover more value small and mid-caps. Most of my top performers: UFPI, BERY, PATK, NXST, and ASO.

I thought prior returns do not determine future results, so what is the point of looking at the prior returns? (except to weed out the weakest performers?). I don’t think you can use prior returns to find the best future performers.
