This video was awesome. I realised the only thing I didn't know about Dahmer was the fact people actually bought or tried to buy all of his torture devices.... I probably would have investigated those people, because that's completely terrifying. Edit: I should also point out that I didn't know his parents were divorced and his mom left him. In my head I thought Jeffrey was raised by his grandmother because both his parents ran off together. That's a little sadder than what actually happened.

m b I know. This was a huge failure on the part of the police. If you research it in particular it's actually a lot worse than what she said in the video. The police actually said they smelled something funny back there (the rotting corpses), but didn't even try to investigate. Seeing as he was naked, obviously a minor, drugged, and had his skull drilled into while the neighbors who found him were insisting that he was in danger, this should have been an easy case to crack at that point. But no, instead they handed the boy back to Dahmer, went back to the station, and proceeded to joke about it with their co workers. Thank goodness the guy was fired, but it still bothers me that they let him back in and allowed him to get a high position after that. It boils my blood thinking about it. He could have easily been saved from that monster, and all the killings that came after wouldn't have happened.

They didn't even run a background check on Dahmer, who at that point was on probation for sexual assault and was a registered sex offender and they didn't even check the identity of the boy nor did they take him to a hospital despite his obvious bleeding and intoxication. It amazes me how those cops got their jobs back and I can only imagine the pain and frustration that the boy's family went through.
