Natalie's endgame is almost like a series of assassinations. Every round she does something different, uses a different element of the game to send her target home. Vote splits, idols, coercion, manipulation, and good old fashioned deception. An absolute Survivor masterclass.

I agree with Nat being number one. Her end game is so fun to watch I have a weird affection for Sophie's end game in SoPa cause I think it's hilarious. I love that its almost entirely yelling at albert and squashing his attempts to make a big move. I also love that she beats Ozzy in a challenge that seemed to be custom picked for him to win it, poetic
@joannechoi8476
@joannechoi8476 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, and another underrated part of Sophie's endgame in SoPa is her convincing Coach that Brandon was a jury threat who needed to be taken out at final 5 (with her "pleasure dome" argument), and shifting the target to Albert instead if Brandon won immunity. I think this moment shows how strategically she approached the game, and that she probably had much more influence than the edit showed.

@@joannechoi8476 Apparently Brandon actually was a jury threat according to post season stuff. They just gave him a weird edit to make him seem like he couldn’t win. I remember Sophie talking about that on RHAP where she wouldn’t vote for Brandon, but she recognized that other players would actually vote for him at the end and he had a great chance at winning. Would’ve been poetic for Brandon to play in such a different way than his Uncle Russell to the point where Russell looked down on him, yet Brandon still ends up winning.

What’s crazy is Amanda Kimmel in Micronesia pulled Cirie in the group, giving Parvati the majority and kept her from going in the beginning, solely took Alexis out, helped manipulate Erik to give his immunity up and got food out of him betraying Natalie, won the immunity over Natalie securing her fate, TOOK parvati to the end herself after defeating Cirie and being one of the few players able to eliminate her (cirie) altogether. This was after being on a losing tribe either way and wading through 90% of tribals and is the first female to find and correctly play an idol. Parvati had a great game but so did Amanda. That’s why Micronesia is deemed so good, not just the twists and manipulation, but because the final 2 (even the final 3) were such good players and really shined in their own ways and in completely different game styles. The fans also don’t get enough appreciation as they really matched up to the favorites.
@gengarcrobat1576

To be fair about eliminating Cirie over Parv, Amanda probably loses to Cirie as well. I don’t know exactly how the votes shake out, but I think that the same three women who voted for Parvati to win alongside Cirie would vote for Cirie if she was in the final two with Amanda. Denise and Michele's end games in their winning seasons were quite amazing. Both of them were the most legendary underdogs of their season as Denise was the last Matsing member standing, and Michele became an underdog once Julia left at the final 7. Denise excelled at her social and strategic maneuvering and Michele excelled at both social and physical game. Seeing Denise go to every tribal council and still be the one to win was an amazing story, and with Michele, she pulled off clutch immunity wins when she needed them most and was quite the catalyst of wild card players excelling at the game. Another endgame I really like in a meta sense, Natalie White in Survivor Samoa made a smart decision to pump up Russell and Mick as her meat shields and let them sink their games further and made her look like the best pick to win the season. She essentially became the last woman standing after Shambo goes. She read between the lines and knew that the men were dominating all season long. Natalie just stood out of the spotlight and won the game by maximizing her social prowess and jury management to gain all 7 votes to win.

As you hinted at throughout the video (lmao), I expected Chris U to be here since basically his whole game was the endgame. He got an idol played on him, successfully played an idol, and make a bold but genius call to make fire at final 4. Chris' victory certainly gained more esteem in my eyes after Winners at War. WaW made me realize just how difficult it was for him to play such a clean game after reentering, in contrast to Natalie's performance in Season 40. I know Chris gets flack for making what we call "obvious" plays when he came back into the game, but now we see those decisions were actually a lot harder to make in practice. It's not easy to give up immunity at final 4 to take out the biggest threat in fire, as evidence by Nat choosing to hang onto immunity instead of going to fire against Tony. (This is not Natalie slander btw, she's my second-favorite winner ever from San Juan Del Sur, but I was not a fan of her endgame in S40)

Sophie in general is incredibly underrated. In a game where everybody acts like big moves are the way to go, Sophie set herself up great and just did some small adjustments when necessary. Albert and Coach both were a mess, and both were clearly aching to do something crazy, so for Sophie to realize that she was already on the course and just had to convince these 2 to stick with her was actually really good. Hell, I'm convinced that at final 4 and potentially final 5, IF Mike doesn't win immunity he stays, at this point Carolyn was on Mike's side (but until final 5 vote wasn't fully), and he might've also had Will (they made that final 3 deal), so, let's say hypothetically, final 5, Mike loses, Carolyn wins, Carolyn knows that she's safe now, and most likely always safe final 4, she uses the idol on Mike, they vote out whoever they want (probably still Sierre), and for F4, well, it's unknown if (presumably the votes stay the same) Mike or Rodney would win, Mike wins, endgame stays the same, Rodney wins, Carolyn wins in most likely a landslide, the only 2 who'd want to vote for Rodney and Will, would be Rodney and Will

It must be incredibly annoying to want to vote a player out but he keeps winning immunity or fucking with your mind about his idol.

Idk if kristie from survivor Australia had an amazing endgame choosing Lee and El over Matt and flick, or if she just had the best tribal speech ever and told us she knew what was going to happen when she full well didn’t. I still can’t tell if she knew what she was doing the whole time, or BS’ed her way through final tribal to get an almost unanimous win. Either way she’s still one of my fav winners

Maybe it’s personal bias, but I’d switch out Chris for Danni. She accomplished a similar feat by being the underdog and getting to the end. Chris was just so hammy, I couldn’t believe people fell for his stuff. His FTC just came across as insincere. Maybe it’s more on the jury, than Chris himself. The juries for Adam, Parvati, Tony, and Natalie all appreciated good gameplay over bs. So I preferred their FTC performances over Chris and FTC is a huge part of the endgame. I know that Chris and JT are considered to have among the best FTC, but there was too much bs.

Parv was playing for 2nd in Micronesia, she needed to cut Cirie. That is a blind spot in her game. Little we forget final 3 was the norm at this point. That idol at 5 could have been used to get out Cirie at 5. Ah well.

Good list but I'd probably bump Tony down to the bottom because he put himself in a position where he had to convince Woo. He should have turned on Woo at five, still voted out Spencer at four, and then he's sitting in a final immunity challenge against Kass and Trish. Of course, then Kass likely wins, takes Trish and Trish wins making Cagayan a much less beloved season. It's tough. But going solely by the odds, Tony made the wrong call even if the results played out perfectly for him.
@Ren_Davis0531
@Ren_Davis0531 2 жыл бұрын
I think you saying Kass likely wins the final immunity challenge and deciding to take Trish shows that path was the one with fewer odds for Tony. Woo is much more susceptible than Kass. There is no way Kass would ever consider taking Tony. Woo was much easier to manipulate.

@Ren_Davis0531
@Ren_Davis0531 2 жыл бұрын
@@miz_flamingo1470 That’s a dumb move. I would still feel more comfortable convincing Woo as with Kass I would have to predict that she would make a suboptimal move. Tony had much more sway over Woo and I don’t think he can reasonably assume that Kass would take him as that doesn’t make sense. You always want to take the beatable opponent to maximize your chances of winning. If Kass thought that was Tony or if she wanted to take Tony because she would rather lose to him then that’s suboptimal in my opinion.

yes! natalie still remains my favorite winner just in terms of her story, and i think i’m definitely biased as sjds was one of my earliest seasons i watched. but for me, after tyson and tony won back to back (2 villains that i didn’t necessarily root for) it was so refreshing to have natalie pull out all the stops and actually take the cake! i was so happy to see someone win who i actually rooted for! i remember being scared that missy and jaclyn were going to snipe her in some crazy 2-1-1 at f4 but thankfully that didn’t happen. that’s another crazy aspect of nat’s game, she never even had her name written down once!

Despite how he there, Chris Underwood had the perfect endgame. He had to do everything correctly to win and even got Lauren to waste an idol on him. How is he not here? (Despite all the cutscenes 😂)
@4Tom4lepus4
@4Tom4lepus4 2 жыл бұрын
Because it wasn't a big achievement when the people on the Edge literally gave him all the info he needed. The only reason he got Lauren to waste her idol on him was because Kelley BLABBED and told him Lauren had an idol. And can you really call it an endgame, when that's where his actual game started because he was voted out day 9?
@matthewmcbride9741
@matthewmcbride9741 2 жыл бұрын
@@4Tom4lepus4 Having the info and executing it are 2 different things. Just because he knew Lauren had an idol doesn't mean she has to or SHOULD even play it on him. Combine that with the fact that everyone still in the game knew he was hanging out with the jury and he convinced them to look past it....TOP tier final 6 game play.
