Jenny, another great product demo! I really like the idea of using a filtering dust bag and canister filter together. Seems like that could be a way to successfully vacuum drywall dust which passes through most filters and destroys the motor bearings and brushes, not to mention the dust inhalation hazard from blowing it all over the work area. I also like the liquid drain port, which I have only seen on industrial vacs in the past.

What if you do not want to blow away any debris or leaves? Does that rear blowing port just keep blowing air or dust when using the vacuum? Thank you for the vid!

I believe it needs to vent air out of the back regardless, but debris doesn't blow out of the back when using it.

@@markwood3252 I was able to find one that fits my Dewalt 8 gal vac. from Amazon 3 pack 90585 foam sleeve vf2001 foam replacements filters. Fits perfectly fine over the vac filter.

You probably "could," the only issues are it's corded so you could only go so far. Plus, you'd be emptying the canister constantly. I might try to do a follow up video based on your question if the weather permits.

When is it recommended to use disposable dry filter? Could vacuum be used without this filter when vacuuming dry?

Hi! Yes, you can use the regular circular filters with dry materials but the bag if you want to contain the debris and throw it away. (Versus dumping everything out.)

On the demonstration, you put the brown filter inside and left the white filter on the vacuum, too. So it appears that it takes both or was it a mistake because it's not vacuuming for me. It also appears that it's blowing out the dry particles.

When I vacuum the blower hole spits out the stuff Im vacuuming ugh… So I’m guessing I have to use the disposable bag every use? Is that normal for fall shop vacs?

I am looking to replace the cartridge filter for my DXV08SA. I'm having a heck of a time finding one. I bought one at Lowes that said it fits DeWALT 6 through 10 gal vacuums. Mine is an 8 gal. But, that filter is a lot larger than the one in my unit. The cartridge filter itself has no number on it. Any ideas?

The other port is the blower if you hook the hose up to it instead. I believe air does continue to flow from it while vacuuming. I don’t have mine in front of me to check.

Yes that was my question as another shop vac I have simply sucks things up from one end and blows it out the other, not conducive for in home use IE cleaning up after a project.

I got this great vac at Costco on sale last year, but I can't find new bags for it. Everyone has DXVA19-4101, but this one needs DXVA19-4104. Are they interchangeable?

I looked on Alton Industries' website (the manufacturer) and I'm going to copy and paste the compatible models with each: 4101 DXV06P, DXV09P, DXV09PA, DXV10P, DXV10PL, DXV10S, DXV10SA, DXV10SB, DXV06P-QT, DXV10P-QT, DXV10S-QT, DXV09P-QT, DXV09P-QTA Measurements are 10.75 X 7.90 4104 DXV05P, DXV06PL, DXV05S, DXV08S, DXV08SL, DXV08SA, DXV08SL, DXV05P-QT, DXV05S-QT, DXV06PL-QT, DXV08S-QT Measurements are 15.8 X 12 It does appear that you need the 4104 for this model. I suppose the 4101 would "work," since it's smaller, it just wouldn't have the full capacity the 4104 has. I don’t see why you have to put them on. I don’t have this in front on me right now, but going from memory, I think you should be able to attach it to a stabilized piece of wood.

One positive is that it stays shut when moving it. Most of our previous shop vacs have an issue of coming open as I try to move them around in the shop. It is very aggravating! But this closure, though it pinched me, does stay securely shut!💕😸
