Top 5 Hidden Features to Unlock for Your BMW 3 Series | Using Carly

Welcome back everyone! Today, I’m going over all my favorite features that I’ve unlocked for my car using the Carly OBD2 adapter/app.
I forgot to mention pricing in the video.. my bad. The adapter costs about $200 brand new, and the app will set you back $60/year for the subscription. Yes, it’s a large initial cost. But once you buy the adapter you can use it on all your cars! I certainly think it’s worth it.

You can also Read/Clear codes with Carly!! One of my primary uses for it.

Carly seems cool but with bimmercode i'm able to go into expert mode and add stuff like engine temp and speed information

In my bmw e60 2005 i don't have FRM and JBBF options, " this options is not available " why ? Your car is LCI ?

You will need the Carly brand adapter in conjunction with the app. I believe any generation of Carly adapter will do

11' 335i let's you do 3 blinks on one tap, not sure if that's a standard for lci

It’s standard for M sport models but not for lower trim packages. You have to unlock it. That is to say my sport package 11’ 335i didn’t have it 👍🏻

Had it on 325d E92 preLCI and in my current 325d E90 LCI aswell. Both non msport. I have it as option in iDrive. @@beaterbeemer

Hey so I’ve never used it personally. But I pulled this from the Carly website - “The Carly NOx Filter prevents your NOx catalyst Filter (NOx) from getting blocked and enables you to proactively request the regeneration process from your phone.”

I had the windows up and down from standard on my e92, is that not normal?

I’m pretty sure it has to do with what packages your car has. Mine for some reason only came with windows down and I had to program windows up with Carly. I think it’s a comfort access feature which I don’t have. Do you have comfort access?

Very interesting! By chance is your car an M sport model? Or maybe has the tech package.. I’m not sure what exactly causes American models to not have all the features. A friend’s M sport e90 had most features as well. Not my sport model

@@beaterbeemer unfortunately not an M. Just a standard coupe auto. But still, the features are there, why would it be disabled for the region. Could the features have been sold as optional extras? I am located in South Africa The only thing left for me to code is having the fogs on with DRL or beams

@@sharkfinn6469 yes I believe they would be reserved and sold as extras here in the states, crazy! I know that in the US rear fog lights are illegal and so they are disabled for American models but left alone on European models. So it’s not too far fetched to think

I have all these features on my 2006 e90 325i 😂 as standard , idk if my car was an error when it came to USA cause every time I enter my VIN in a BMW vin checker it comes out as an EURO E91 325i

@@StacczWoo yes it is, gotta buy the obd adapter and then pay for the yearly subscription. Can’t remember how much it is but it’s not bad, like $100 for the year? That’s worth imo with all the code reading I’m doing. And you can register your battery. Pays for itself

Is there acoustic lock and unclock on Carly, I recently got mine and I couldn’t find the feature, however I found it on bimmercode

When you say acoustic lock, are you referring to the controlling of the exhaust can flap? The feature is available on Carly but not supported on every model bmw.. could be a reason.

Yes there is an acoustic for the lock/unlock in Carly, just got mine today and programmed it in
