I could literally relate to every tip you gave. I have learned those very same lessons myself! My desk used to be permanently stained also. Now I buy the rolls of paper from Ikea. They are meant as kids craft paper and you can buy the paper holder for it too. Very inexpensive and the bonus is that I can use the papers later as ephemera for collaging! My best tips are making small journals when I'm trying something new and definitely walking away when I'm frustrated. That has often been when I turn something from "I hate it" to "this is amazing"! There's a fine line or a few days between those two things. 😁

Miss Bri , thanks again for your tips! My tip is ... to use archival quality material. That cute paper you made because you were in a hurry to do something was not acid free, and before 20 years is over, it's going to yellow, and discolor, and make a mess all over everything next to it. We're making things we want to cherish and we would like our families or friends to cherish. Solid construction, acid free components, archival quality will keep our words and our works things that can become heirlooms. A yellowed newspaper clipping is only so precious .... until it crumbles.

My tip when binding…make sure you pages are right side up before binding! I have had to redo binding many times as my pages were upside down…lesson well learned! I also have hole punch templates for different size journals. PS- I used to be pinkdragonjj but recently changed my name to junkjournalmaniac.

I fall over getting to your new posts. Lan sakes you makes excellent videos and art. 💕💕💕 discussion #1 … best tip I have? There is a brain injury/trauma trick called “pacing” where your goal is do a bit and then stop. Sort of a corollary to your point of if frustrated, then stop. Pacing builds in the stop before frustration onset. Discussion #2 from a math perspective, the metric system is way easier. I think the root of conversion is a take on the idea of vibe tool … that is - we get used to one system and there is no point in changing. Fwiw - I am Canadian and I speak both metric and imperial. I can’t sew in metric and can’t drive in imperial. 🤣 …. Discussion #3 I love the idea of a vibe tool. It is precision disguised in hippy dippy clothing 💕😁💕 … like you get precision with out the stress of fractions. Also fwiw … I have some of these including templates and my “good sticks” 😁😁😁 thank you as always for sharing and making such incredibly thoughtful and fun videos. 💕💕💕💕

I've never heard of pacing, but it seems a nurturing practice. Thank you for sharing that! Also- I lol'd at the switch you have to make with metric and imperial! I never thought about that lol.

Much as I love making journals, sewing in the signatures is my least favourite part as I have the equivalent of '2 left feet' but hands instead 😁 I just use a basic 3-hole stitch but either miss holes or struggle to find them! Having said that, I'd love to try other binding styles and just hope I don't end up tying myself to my journal 😂 Walking away is excellent advice! Preferably before my huffing and puffing turns the air blue!

This is so me! I mark the holes and use my owl and by the time I finish all my pages have been punctured no where close to the holes! I know it’s likely my impetuous nature to just be finished so I can use the darned thing!! 😅
