Hello, I started collecting about 5 yrs ago and have recieved good advice from you. I need some more!! I found a 1965 penny minted in Philly, and is just a normal penny until you get to looking at the word LIBER7Y. That's NO typo. The T in LIBER7Y, that's right, it IS a 7. Not kinda a 7...... but absolutely w/o a doubt a 7. Have you heard of this error? I hope to get your opinion.. Awaiting anxiously. Donna Anderson

That may be due to a polishing error. It is unlikely to be a Die error. So if it is real that is a possible cause. On the other hand it could be an unfortunate hoax. Best to take some excellent photos of it and submit them to an On-Line Forum of numismatists for their consideration. And if they think it legit spend the money to have it authenticated and graded. It could bring a pretty penny back in return. Good luck.

I've found a 1983 Philly lincoln penny that weighs 2.67 grams, and a 1983 Denver lincoln penny that weighs 2.63 grams. Are those weights still within the acceptable range of being a normal copper-coated zinc planchet? All the other ones I've ever weighed have been around the normal 2.5 gram mark. It's too light though to be in the range of being a copper planchet. Your thoughts?

Thanks Sean. There is a contender for sixth place. I wasn't sure about my coins authenticity until just now. I couldn't understand how such a mint error would occur. But after seeing the last three examples in your video I am certain to be sending mine off for verification. I have a 1916 Lincoln muled with a 1917 Mercury.
