Some of the new stuff has a crackle and pop when you let off if it's true duel. I think it sounds like garbage. Either an x pipe or flomaster 10 series true dueled sounds the best I think

I just did a muffler delete on mine and left the stock cats and resonators. Its just on the verge of being obnoxious at anything above 3500 rpm but pretty mellow with light throttle and cruising, i love it!

i had an 02 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 in high school & we literally took a hacksaw to the exhaust to cut the muffler off then used JB Weld to put a turndown pipe on it after i got tired of the exhaust fumes in the cab hahahaha but honestly that sounded surprisingly good for how horribly it was done & how small i thought the engine was. i did a lot more to it over the years. by the time i sold it i had a custom dual cold air intake, SRT-10 hood with functional Ram Air scoop, forged internal, Air-Raid custom adapter to fit an intake manifold from a 4.6L Cobra so we could put the Whipple supercharger on it, bad ass cam kit (don’t know the details on this, i just bought what the guy at the engine shop suggested), 180° E-Fan, throttle body spacer, and because i was like 19 i wanted the cool nitrous purge but i knew i’d blow the engine up if i had nitrous. so i just had them run a line from a nitrous bottle straight out to the Viper emblem so my fake nitrous purge made it look like the snake was shooting smoke out its mouth. now obviously i’m biased, but after all of that, it was the best-sounding truck i’ve ever heard. i wish i still had the videos of it. but all the videos i had were taken on old iphones so it was pretty garbage sound quality.

I have a muffler delete on my 5.7L Hemi. It was a little choppy before I installed cold air intake. Combustion is smooth with less restriction up front. Keep those resonators, and don't be that guy.😉

Muffler delete cost me $40. Left the cats and the resonators on the back. Sounds great. Wish I hadn't wasted my money on shorty headers though. Shoulda saved and got long tubes

When I was young(er), I'd have gone for the true duals and had them dump just past the rear axle. Now that I'm 42 and a family man, I prefer the muffler and resonator delete. I think I'll do that on my 2021 Laramie when I decide to make it louder.

I have always loved the way the Flowmasters sound. That's probably why I went with a Flowmaster Series 40, which is second loudest they make right behind that series 10, on my 2000 D with the 4.7. The fact that I got all the parts needed and installed myself for under $120 isn't bad either. All of these setups sound good here though. obviously the true dual cat back setup was gonna be the loudest, but will get old real fast on longer trips. Moral of this story is, We all love a free breathing American V8 whether it's just purring in the driveway or snarling down the highway!

As a ASE Certified Master Tech for the last 40 years with a bit of drag racing, dirt track , street racing experience I did it all. I found working with flowmasters for years that if you install them towards the very end of the exhaust they sound very good . I would like to hear a 2014 or so hemi ram with long tube headers with 3 inch collector, true dual with 3 inch pipes all the way back . 2 Flowmaster 10 series close as possible to the 4 inch tailpipes. I'm curious about the effect a 4 door ram will have due to its length. Have a great day.

I went with a true dual, 3” all the way back(cut off the y-pipe/collector) and picked it up going back along the passenger side….added an X-Pipe, 20” down from the y pipe delete, and then continued with 3” exhaust, into 2x Flowmaster Outlaws(3in/In&out) and then dumped it a just behind the cab…… At WOT……it’s f*ckin ruuuuuuude……..and the looks and jump scare I get from people when it drops from 8th gear, to 2nd…..totally worth going true duals

The best sound and most HP gains Iv ever got out of all my HEMIs was my 2004 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4. Doug Thourley Long Tube Headers, True duel w/ X-pipe exhaust left stock resonators on. I had it dynode several times cause I did not believe the numbers. 62 HP and 54 Ft-Lbs at the wheels. That was before tune. You do good work. Nice video on sound. Thanks for sharing this sir.

I had the PCU played with at Gear Head in Stuart Florida, 6 checks, 3 on the engine 3 on the transmission and put a S&B cold air intake then tuned. Frigin amazing. I kept the exhaust Stock, total sleeper. But I have an exhaust leak now and I'm going to take off the can And wake it up. Now they'll know what up, Only downfall is back end is too lite at the start, loves to rost tires.

@@rdigi9037 engine wise, just the muffler. Im thinking about supercharging it sometime in the future, but for now im happy just the way it is. It also has a readylift 3.5" lift with fuel contra rims and nitto tires, which kinda hurt the original ride quality a bit but it looks so good to me i dont even mind. I love my truck. Cant you tell? XD

I did a mid-muffler delete on my 2017 Charger 5.7L and it was a really sweet sound, especially the startup. One has to live with one's family though, and it was pretty loud hauling my wife and her Mom around, and there were times I had to crank it up in the wee hours and it would wake up the sleeping dead! So I had bullets added back where the mid-mufflers were and the sound is just right. Have to say though, I really miss that startup!
