They can be in bioactives! My boy was the worst eater until he got moved to his bioactive setup. I use Carex and Festuca grass, mealworms, Spanish isopods and a couple of morio worms for clean up. Water the grasses directly every 1-2 weeks. Mist under a couple of cork/rock/log pieces for the isopods and water the setup a little extra when the snake is in shed and you're good to go.

I ADORE whites tree frogs. I finally got two gorgeous babies this year. They are so cute and goofy. They love their little pool and hunting lobster roaches. One is a more blue with snowflakes, and the other is a blue eyed, so more lavender blue body. My little blue eyed boy recently started croaking. It's adorable and hilarious. Bok bok bork! Just short little bursts. But a lot of noises will set them off.

I’m always surprised when uromastyx don’t make these lists. They need larger enclosures (box turtles need more space) and require high temperatures, but their care is so easy. They don’t need a water dish, they don’t need to be misted, their waste doesn’t smell at all and dries up incredibly fast, and you can buy their food when you shop for yourself, eliminating an extra shopping trip.

I beyond love my hognose. Only 2 months old, so has so much sass. Handles like a dream, then when you put him back in & offer a mouse, he goes into full on viper mode with his tail going & hissing. Did to me too the other day because I wanted to change his water after handling, so he decided that was where he wanted to go. Wasn't happy at all he needed to move for his dish to go back in! 😊

I have a little gargoyle gecko now and he is just awesome. Used to have mourning geckos but since they died I had the urge to go bigger because the one big downside to them was how small they were. So when I went to a convention I gave in to my 3 year urge to get a garg soon as I saw my little dude's face pop up out of his little plastic tub. He stood out over all the other cresties and gargs on the table and I just couldn't leave him. I needed one with a good personality and strong character to be able to cope with the 8 hour journey home in a stuffed to near bursting gym bag and I sure picked one that has both. Added bonus is that he's also gorgeous. Vibrant orange stripes on cream white with big lavender eyes. I went to that con hoping to pick up a future mate for my childrens python but there's no way I'm not getting this guy a companion either. Cons are also so much cheaper than reptile shops and buying online. Especially if you're there near closing time and the breeders want to shift some of their last few animals. There was no shortage of baby hogs and a lot of them were going for $50 or less. So if you want a hog for a good price, as long as you don't mind them being really little and needing a little bit more care, go to a con.

Love my Westerns, Leioheterodon Species. Western are on a Pine shaving but my Leioheterodon are on a jungle mix /Sand mix and they love it.

Pine shavings? Hopefully kiln dried, otherwise they’re toxic to reptiles.

My cresties and gargs (and dart frogs) have their own room, and the main reason I am in there, is because its warm and the geckos make me laugh! Not really very needy, like ever. Also about their footsies, watch closely because they curl their toes backwards!

@@WickensWickedReptiles I look forward to it! My next pet will probably be a Blue, or Pink Tongue Skink, but a Russian Tortoise or Box Turtle is a dark horse candidate for me.

Great video! I saw you on Snake Discovery (LOVE Emily and Ed!). You've convinced me that I need cresties in my life! LOL. I currently breed leopard geckos. I think I also need a Western Hognose. Between you and Emily, with the hognoses... you've really done a great job of describing what it's like to care for one! Thanks :)

I think my pacman is my easiest pet. He doesn't need daily misting or feeding. Sometimes he just stays buried for weeks no need to eat or anything just a misting every 3-4 days. He'll eat absolutely anything from fish to dubias. The hognose and sand boa are up there too though.
