Just failed my eye test at the DMV. I gotta get glasses. I'm stylish, and I can get away with something a bit more avant-garde, but I like to keep it classic too. To give you an idea, a normal outfit for me would be like a Pumas or Jordans, some selvedge jeans, crewneck sweatshirt, in the New Era fitted. I'm 36 yrs old. I think I'm feeling those Cutler & gross

They are part of Dior’s new “Mid-20th Century Hollywood Sci-Fi Line”. The ones shown here are “The Young Love Interest Professor” but the more angular, slightly more rectangular “1950s Nuclear Physicist” are my personal favourite and are great work glasses as the lenses are radio opaque up to 175 keV, are acid and alkaline resistant, and are military grade blast proofed. They’re the perfect work glasses if your job involves giving people bad news in a scientific/technical setting.

We people haven’t changed much, and of course glasses have to fit the faces of humans. So yes, where design is concerned, there are a Lot of restrictions, I get that. But still, when I watch videos like this, I can’t help thinking that glasses design hasn’t evolved much for the last 40-ish years. Yes, of course the materials are a much better quality these days, but still, the glasses shown here are Not that different from what I have seen 40 years ago, and I have to admit that I find that very frustrating. Nothing surprises me, nothing shocks me, everything seems just “same old”, called “retro”…….. Just to give you an idea what I mean, How about getting rid of the arms resting on the ears, use a head-band instead, and what about improving those horrible nose-rests, surely there has to be a different way….??? Frames that are held in place by a thin band directly over the head……?? I know that was done with some sports glasses back in the 80’s, cycling glasses I believe, but never to be seen again…..??
